RESUMO

A visible-light-induced nickel-catalyzed cross coupling of alkyl carboxylic acids with N-trifluoroethoxyphthalimide is described. Under purple light irradiation, an α-hydroxytrifluoroethyl radical generated from a photoactive electron donor-acceptor complex between Hantzsch ester and N-trifluoroethoxyphthalimide was subsequently engaged in a nickel-catalyzed coupling reaction with in situ-activated alkyl carboxylic acids. This convenient protocol does not require photocatalysts and metal reductants, providing a straightforward and efficient access to trifluoromethyl alkyl acyloins in good yields with broad substrate compatibility. The complex bioactive molecules were also compatible with this catalytic system to afford the corresponding products.

RESUMO

The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction mostly relies on the experience of surgeons. To improve the effectiveness and adaptability of the tension after ACL reconstruction in knee joint rehabilitation, this paper establishes a lateral force measurement model with relaxation characteristics and designs an on-line stiffness measurement system of ACL. In this paper, we selected 20 sheep knee joints as experimental material for the knee joint stability test before the ACL reconstruction operation, which were divided into two groups for a comparative test of single-bundle ACL reconstruction through the anterolateral approach. The first group of surgeons carried out intraoperative detection with routine procedures. The second group used ACL on-line stiffness measurement system for intraoperative detection. After that, the above two groups were tested for postoperative stability. The study results show that the tension accuracy is (- 2.3 ± 0.04)%, and the displacement error is (1.5 ± 1.8)%. The forward stability, internal rotation stability, and external rotation stability of the two groups were better than those before operation ( P < 0.05). But the data of the group using the system were closer to the preoperative knee joint measurement index, and there was no significant difference between them ( P > 0.05). The system established in this paper is expected to help clinicians judge the ACL reconstruction tension in the operation process and effectively improve the surgical effect.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: This research aimed to study the biomechanical properties of sheep tendon under torsion and the tendon energy absorption performance with an externally imposed initial force. METHODS: Tendons of nine healthy knees of sheep were investigated. In both tests, we investigated energy and relaxation at rotations of 0°, 90°, 180°, and 360°. For both tensile force and tensile displacement at a sampling period of 100 milliseconds, the maximum value of 89 N was selected as the maximum tension state for 600 s of relaxation duration for testing relaxation, and analysed of the average force of the last 30 s. FINDINGS: The difference of energy levels of the tendons are significant between twisted groups (180° and 360°) and untwisted group (0°) (P < 0.05); The relaxation force decreases significantly with twisted groups (90°,180°, and 360°) and untwists group (0°) (P < 0.05). The nine-group tendons show no significant difference at torsion 90° and 180° (P = 0.466). Peak force test shows significant differences between the twisted groups (90°,180°, and 360°) and untwisted group (0°) (P < 0.05). INTERPRETATION: The torsion tendon has lower energy absorption and relaxation than the untwisted counterparts; thus, it may be more prone to damage. These results are useful for providing guidance on anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.

RESUMO

Aryl trifluoromethyl ethers (ArOCF3 ) are prevalent in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and materials. However, methods for the general and efficient synthesis of these compounds are extremely underdeveloped and limited. Herein, we describe a highly efficient and general procedure for the direct O-trifluoromethylation of unprotected phenols through a silver-mediated cross-coupling reaction using CF3 SiMe3 as the CF3 source and exogenous oxidants. This novel oxidative trifluoromethylation provides access to a wide range of aryl trifluoromethyl ethers from simple phenols. The mild process was also applied to the late-stage trifluoromethylation of a medicinally relevant compound.

RESUMO

An unprecedented reaction for the direct trifluoromethylthiolation and fluorination of alkyl alcohols using AgSCF3 and nBu4NI has been developed. The trifluoromethylthiolated compounds and alkyl fluorides were selectively formed by changing the ratio of AgSCF3/nBu4NI. This protocol is tolerant of different functional groups and might be applicable to late-stage trifluoromethylthiolation of alcohols.
