RESUMO

A case of crossed renal ectopia assoicated with abdominal aortic aneurysm is reported. This is believed to be the first known case of these entities occurring together. It is important for the urologist to be cognizant of the possibility of such an association so that appropriate surgical correction of the aneurysm may be carried out without undue delay. The importance of a preoperative intravenous pyelogram for all patients undergoing abdominal aortic aneurysm repair is stressed.

RESUMO

Two cases with varying presentations of renal adenocarcinoma are reviewed. The first patient manifested an unsuspected hypernephroma on intravenous pyelogram for ureteral colic by demonstrating a distorted collecting system and peripelvic extravasation of contrast material. The second case report is one of spontaneous subcapsular renal hemorrhage with hypernephroma.

RESUMO

A case of postoperative chylous ascites accumulation after retroperitoneal lymph node dissection is reviewed. Although uncommon, this complication is distressing and because of the close proximity of the cisterna chyli to the renal pedicles it may be encountered with any retroperitoneal procedures involving this area. Avoidance of the complication by specific identification and ligation of these structures appears to be the best treatment. Several forms of operative and non-operative therapy have been noted and survival rates in the iatrogenic form of chylous ascites appear to be good based on a limited series of cases.
