[Protective effect of narcotic analgesics on the mother, fetus and offspring in hypoxia]. / Protektivnoe deistvie narkoana'lgetikov na ma't, plod i potomstvo pri gipoksii.

The protective effect of the narcoanalgetics, viadril (hydroxydione sodium succinate) and administered intraperitoneally in doses of 5 and 20 mg/kg was studied in the experiment on 146 pregnant noninbred white rats with simulated hemic hypoxia in the late pregnancy (the 19th day). The aforementioned rats were studied for the composition of the peripheral blood, their weight gain oxidative isoenzymes (LDH), pH and pO2 in the blood. Wilson's technique was used for the assessment of the fetal status. The offspring was studied with regard to the weight increment, the rate of postnatal mortality, behavioral reactions, etc. It was stated that viadril strengthened the resistance of pregnant animals to hypoxia and contributed to the alleviation of late sequela of posthypoxic changes in the fetus and newborn.

[Cholesterol-acceptor properties of high-density lipoproteins with respect to erythrocyte membranes in patients with ischemic heart disease]. / Kholesterin-aktseptornye svoistva lipoproteidov vysokoi plotnosti bol'nykh ishemicheskoi bolezn'iu serdtsa po otnosheniiu k membranam éritrotsitov.

A capacity of high density lipoproteins (HDL), isolated from blood of patients with ischemic heart disease, to accept cholesterol of erythrocyte membranes was studied by means of monitoring, using spectra of electron paramagnetic resonance, a disease in the correlation period of rotation, in the patterns of regularity of stearic acid nitroxyl derivatives introduced into the membranes and by a decrease in the molar ratio "cholesterol/phospholipids" in erythrocytes. HDL2 and HDL3, isolated from blood plasma of the patients, were shown to bind cholesterol less effectively after incubation with erythrocytes as compared with the corresponding lipoproteins from blood plasma of healthy persons. Relationship between the phenomenon observed and the physico-chemical properties of HDL in ischemic heart disease are discussed.
