[Errors and complications in the treatment of injuries of major blood vessels]. / Oshibki i oslozhneniia pri lechenii povrezhdenii magistral'nykh sosudov.

An experience with treatment of 280 patients with injuries of major vessels has shown that errors and complications after a medical aid are dependent on several groups of factors. The main conditions for successful treatment of patients with traumas of blood vessels are: rational organization and timely diagnosis of the pathology; performing the operations by surgeons trained specially in vascular surgery ; an objective assessment of the degree of ischemia of the injured extremity tissues.

[Prevention, diagnosis and treatment of early complications after reconstructive operations on the abdominal aorta and iliac arteries]. / Profilaktika, diagnostika i lechenie rannikh oslozhnenii posle rekonstruktivnykh operatsii na briushnoi aorte i podvzdoshnykh arteriiakh.

The authors have analyzed immediate results of restorative vascular operations on 408 patients with occlusive injuries of the aorto-iliac segment. An improvement of the surgical technique, active surgical tactics of management of complications, newly developed complex of prophylactic measures for the recent 10 years have resulted in 2.5 times less amount of postoperative thromboses, 3.5 times less amount of suppurations, bleedings (1.8 times), amputations of extremities (3.1 times). Total lethality was 1.9 times less.

[Predicting the late results of reconstructive operations in the aorto-iliac region]. / Prognozirovanie otdalennykh rezul'tatov rekonstruktivnykh operatsii vaortopodvzdoshnoi zone.

A system of rehabilitating measures with special reference to individual prognosis of the course of the disease is of great significance in addition to surgical treatment in organization of specialized aid to patients with obliterating diseases. A map for prognosis of remote results of reconstructive operations has been developed which allows curative and rehabilitating measures to be performed more purposefully. Favorable results were obtained in 66% of observations in terms from 1 to 15 years.

[Immediate and long-term results of endarterectomies in atherosclerotic occlusions of the abdominal aorta and iliac arteries]. / Neporedstvennye i otdalennye rezul'taty endarterektomii pri aterosklerotichekikh okklisziiakh briushnoi aorty i podvzdoshnykh arterii.

An analysis of the clinical material evidences a sufficiently high efficiency of endarterectomy even in spread occlusions of the aorto-femoral segments of atherosclerotic etiology with the absence of atheromatosis and calcinosis of the arteries. Good and satisfactory immediate results were obtained in 89.4% of the patients, long-term results in 52.8% and with regard to reoperations--in 67.5% of the patients.
