RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Sufficient knowledge is crucial for nurses in intensive care unit to prevent medical device related pressure injuries. This study was aimed to explore the Chinese intensive care nurses' perceptions and knowledge of medical device related pressure injury prevention and identify associated factors. METHODS: This descriptive cross-sectional study included a convenience sample of 1286 intensive care nurses recruited from professional networks across China. Participants completed the demographic data form and the adapted 23-item Medical device related pressure injury Knowledge Assessment Questionnaire (MKAQ) questionnaire. Multiple linear regression was used to determine the associated factors. RESULTS: The medical device related pressure injury knowledge assessment questionnaire scores among intensive care nurses were relatively high, with a correct rate of 78.3 %. Multiple regression analysis revealed that management position (ß = 0.131, P < 0.001) was the strongest associated factor of knowledge scores, followed by academic position (ß = 0.114, P = 0.009) and received training on medical device related pressure injury (ß = 0.112, P < 0.001). Hospital level (ß = 0.087, P = 0.004) and sex (ß = 0.068, P = 0.016) were also significant associated factors. Collectively, these five variables accounted for 18.2 % of the variance in knowledge scores. CONCLUSION: Sufficient knowledge is a prerequisite for safe nursing practice. Although nurses demonstrated relatively high level of knowledge, it is essential for nursing managers to implement specific measures to enhance the knowledge among junior nursing staff, especially in non-tertiary hospitals, to promote medical device related pressure injury prevention in all intensive care settings. IMPLICATIONS FOR CLINICAL PRACTICE: This study highlights the importance of sociodemographic and professional characteristics in promoting satisfactory perception and knowledge of preventing medical device related pressure injury among intensive care nurses. It is necessary for nurse managers and leaders to develop strategic interventions, along with targeted training programs and quality improvement plans that correspond to the actual training needs to improve the medical device related pressure injury prevention.

BACKGROUND: Knee Osteoarthritis (KOA) is a degenerative osteoarthrosis with knee joint pain as the main symptom. In recent years, arthroscopic removal of loose body and repair of meniscus have become common methods for the treatment of KOA. However, postoperative pain, swelling and limited joint movement affect the functional recovery of knee joint and the effect of surgical treatment. Early postoperative control of pain and swelling is of great significance to improve the curative effect of arthroscopic debridement and promote the recovery of knee joint function. In recent years, many clinical studies have reported that the nursing method of fumigation and washing with Chinese medicine after arthroscopic debridement of KOA can relieve pain, promote the recovery of joint function and improve the clinical curative effect, but there is a lack of evidence-based medicine. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of fumigation and washing with traditional Chinese medicine after KOA arthroscopy. METHODS: Computer retrieval English database (PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library) and Chinese database (China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, VIP Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals, China Biology Medicine disc), moreover manual retrieval academic, Google and baidu from building to since December 2020, traditional Chinese medicine fumigation applied to KOA arthroscopy postoperative nursing of randomized controlled clinical research, by two researchers independently evaluated the quality of the included study and extracted the data. Meta-analysis of the included literatures was performed using RevMan5.3 software. RESULTS: The main observation index of this study was the effective rate, and the secondary indexes included Visual Analogue Scale Score, the Western Ontario and McMaster university orthopedic index, Lysholms score and adverse reactions, so as to evaluate the efficacy and safety of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation nursing after KOA arthroscopy. CONCLUSION: This study will provide reliable evidence for the clinical application of Fumigation and washing nursing of traditional Chinese medicine after KOA arthroscopy. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION: Private information from individuals will not be published. This systematic review also does not involve endangering participant rights. Ethical approval will not be required. The results may be published in a peer-reviewed journal or disseminated at relevant conferences. OSF REGISTRATION NUMBER: DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/THZP4.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the clinical significance of TNF receptor-associated factor 6 (TRAF6) expression in urothelial bladder cancer. TRAF6 expression was detected by immunohistochemistry in 126 samples of patients with urothelial bladder cancer. The association between clinicopathological factors and TRAF6 expression was analyzed by χ2 test. The association between TRAF6 expression, overall survival rate and the recurrence-free survival rate was evaluated in univariate analysis with Kaplan-Meier test and in multivariate analysis with Cox-regression model. In the cohort tested, the rate of high TRAF6 expression was 61.9% (78/126). TRAF6 expression was demonstrated to be significantly associated with positive metastasis (P=0.001) with χ2 test. Furthermore, TRAF6 expression was demonstrated to be associated with overall survival rate (P=0.016) and recurrence-free survival rate (P=0.016). With Cox-regression model, it was indicate that TRAF6 high expression was an independent predictive factor of poor prognosis (P=0.037) and high recurrence (P=0.011). High TRAF6 expression may predict unfavorable prognosis and high recurrence in urothelial bladder cancer, indicating that TRAF6 may be a potential and promising therapeutic target in urothelial bladder cancer.
