RESUMO

We present new species and records of Poduromorpha for the Brazilian oceanic islands and synthesis of this order in Brazil. Friesea noronhaensis sp. nov., Friesea rochedoensis sp. nov., Willemia insularum sp. nov. and Paraxenylla zeliae sp. nov. are described and a diagnosis of the morphospecies Acherontiella sp. Lima and Zeppelini 2015 is provided. We present comparative tables, distribution and taxonomic keys of the Friesea, Arlesia, Brachystomella, Acherontiella, Paraxenylla, Xenylla, and Willemia found in the Brazilian oceanic islands and their respective congeners recorded in Brazil.

RESUMO

Knowledge on Poduromorpha fauna from the littoral of Rio de Janeiro mainly come from studies conducted in "restinga" areas of Itaipuaçu, Maricá, and Marambaia. In this study two "restinga" areas were sampled for the first time to increase the taxonomic knowledge of Poduromorpha in littoral areas of Rio de Janeiro: Costa do Sol State Park and Restinga de Jurubatiba National Park, located respectively at Lake Region ("região dos lagos") and at northern Rio de Janeiro State. The analysis of the material showed the presence of six families, 14 genera and 20 species. All records are new for both areas; Neanuridae had the highest diversity, with seven genera and 10 species. One of them, Paleonura Cassagnau, 1982, was registered for the first time in the littoral of Rio de Janeiro. A key was proposed for the Poduromorpha genera found in the littoral of Rio de Janeiro.

RESUMO

A new blind species, Folsomides cariocus sp. nov., which belongs to the F. parvulus group sensu Fjellberg (1993), is described and illustrated based on material collected in compacted clay soil covered by undergrowth and no litter around the bee nest holes at the Botanical Garden, located in Rio de Janeiro City. The new species is very similar to F. parvulus Stach, 1922 but differs mainly due to the absence of eyes. Synonymies based on ocular variations and pigmented spots were discussed and a table for the group parvulus species is present.

RESUMO

Poduromorpha order currently includes 11 families, 330 genera, and approximately 3.400 species, which are widely distributed. In Brazil, there are seven families, 48 genera, and 141 species, 74 of which occur in Rio de Janeiro State. Poduromorpha fauna has been investigated over the last years, especially those from the Brazilian southeastern region. The objective of the present work was to gather and expand information on Poduromorpha in Rio de Janeiro State from literature, data from Scientific Collections, dissertations, theses, and congress communications. As a result, 40 genera and 81 species have been recorded, five of which having been registered for the first time in Rio de Janeiro State.

RESUMO

We summarize the distribution and habitat of Brazilian Archisotoma species, a taxonomic key for all species of the genus is given and a new species is described from intertidal sand of the Biologial Reserve Atol das Rocas, Brazil. Archisotoma jariani sp. nov. belongs to the besselsi group, recognized by small size, tibiotarsus III with stiff outer spur, maxillary head with thin simple capitulum, 3-2 pairs of trichobothria on abdominal segment VI. This is the first species of Collembola recorded from Atol das Rocas.

RESUMO

Three new species of Brachystomellidae from high altitude fields of southeast Brazil are described and illustrated and additions made to the description of Micronella porcus (Denis, 1933). The new species are Neorganella rotundatae sp. n., the second for the genus, Micronella itacaman sp. n. and Micronella longisensilla sp. n. Diagnosis of the genera have been extended. An identification key to the genus Micronella Arlé, 1959 is provided.

RESUMO

The present paper describes Paracerura gandarela sp. nov.based on material from the Serra do Gandarela Mts., Municipality of Caeté, State of Minas Gerais. The new species is the sixth of the Neotropical genus Paracerura Deharveng & Oliveira, 1994 with distribution limited to Brazil. P. gandarela sp. nov. differs from other congeners especially by sensillary set on abdominal segments IV-V and characteristic pigmentation of the body. An identification key to species of the the genus is given.

RESUMO

Two new species of the genus Isotomiella Bagnall, 1939 are described and illustrated, the first: Isotomiella macedoisp. n., based on males and females, from the "Parque Nacional da Serra dos Órgãos" (Teresópolis municipality, State of Rio de Janeiro) differs from the other by tibiotarsus III thickened and blunt and two antero-lateral chaetae of labrum strongly thickened. The second species Isotomiella uaisp. n. from "Serra da Gandarela", (Caeté municipality, State of Minas Gerais) differs from the other by presence of short sensilla on antennal IV and tergites, two anterolabral chaetae thickened and falcate mucro.
