RESUMO
Inflammatory pseudotumor of the lung was first described by Brunn in 1939. Since that description, various extrapulmonary sites of inflammatory pseudotumor have been described. Review of the literature reveals five cases of inflammatory pseudotumor involving the heart, but no cases have been reported in the radiology literature. The present case involves a 7-month-old girl with inflammatory pseudotumor involving the right atrium, which was completely excised at surgery. Though rare, inflammatory pseudotumor should be considered in the differential diagnosis of cardiac tumors in children.

Mucormycosis is an uncommon and frequently fatal fungal infection. It characteristically affects patients with diabetes mellitus or patients with severe immunosuppression. The hallmark of mucormycosis infection is tissue infarction and vascular invasion. We present clinical data and imaging studies of a 16 year-old child with acute lymphoblastic leukemia complicated by disseminated mucormycosis resulting in a pseudoaneurysm of the spleen. This was successfully managed by a combination of systemic antifungal therapy (Amphotericin B) and surgery (splenectomy). This entity has not been described in the literature.

Primary ovarian leiomyosarcomas are rare neoplasms of the ovary, particularly in the pediatric population. Their occurrence following radiation therapy for previous malignancy has important implications. We present a case of primary ovarian leiomyosarcoma in an adolescent following therapy for medulloblastoma.

Lymphoma involving the kidneys typically presents as bilateral renal enlargement with multiple nodules [1-6]. Solitary masses, diffuse parenchymal infiltration, or engulfment of the entire kidney by diffuse disease may occur but are more rare. We report the case of a child with non-Hodgkin s lymphoma presenting as a focal unilateral renal mass with bony metastases.

Granulocytic sarcoma (chloroma) is an uncommon malignant neoplasm associated with myelogenous leukemias. Its appearance may precede the clinical manifestations of the acute leukemic phase by months to years. We report the CT findings of a case of bilateral intraorbital granulocytic sarcoma which preceded the blast phase of acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) and led to its diagnosis. An awareness of granulocytic sarcoma and its CT appearance may expedite the diagnosis of AML or prompt close monitoring of those cases of granulocytic sarcoma antedating the appearance of AML.
