RESUMO

Prosthetic breast reconstruction is a simple procedure that has become a standard of care for breast reconstruction. The technique generally provides satisfactory results, although minor defaults requiring further correction may sometimes be detected. The present study is a systematic review of prosthetic breast reconstruction defaults, which we have classified in different categories: shape too round, disruption of inframammary fold, excessive firmness, wrinkling and rippling, and localized imperfections. Based on this analysis of physical signs, we propose surgical solutions adapted to the needs of each patient. Reconstruction with abdominal advancement flap an intrapectoral fat graft (lipomodeling) appear to be among the most significant current advances of prosthetic breast surgery. The skillful analysis of prosthetic reconstruction defaults will make it possible to contribute to enhancing the quality of prosthesis reconstruction, whereas improving both aesthetic outcome and patient satisfaction.

RESUMO

The lateral brachial flap is a fascio-cutaneus flap. This flap is secured. The functional and cosmetic sequelae are limited. The authors propose in this paper its utilisation as free flap in the reconstruction of facial defects. Thanks to its low morbidity, this free flap may be used in old patients.

RESUMO

The authors studied the cases of 52 patients (56 knees) treated with a total knee prosthesis of the type "total condylar" and "total condylar with posterior stabilization" over a 3-year period. Gonarthrosis (41 cases) and rheumatoid arthritis (12 cases) were the major indications. The analysis of functional results proves the success concerning mobility, pain and ability to negotiate stairs after knee arthroplasty. The postoperative radiological results of 44 knees were reviewed and compared to the literature. Proof of the importance of the postoperative axis and the inclination of the tibial component is provided. Few complications were observed. Review of the literature confirms the good results of this type of total knee prosthesis.
