RESUMO

Immune-checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are considered as the novel treatment modality in certain cancers. They may soon be used widely even as the first-line option for cancer treatment due to their remarkable efficacies and impacts on survival rates, particularly in cases of advanced metastatic cancer. Of note, these agents might unveil new autoimmune diseases as well as causing flare-ups of a pre-existing autoimmune disease. Data in this field have been accumulated during recent years. Early detection and a collaborative approach are, therefore, crucial in the management of a patient who presents with any of these conditions. Herein, we report a patient with a diagnosis of metastatic renal cell cancer presented with vasculitis involvement in the aorta during nivolumab treatment. Our aim with this case is to increase the awareness of ICI-related vasculitis involvement among rheumatologists in the light of literature.

RESUMO

ABSTRACT: 131 I has been used effectively over the years in both diagnosis and therapy of differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC). Although whole-body scan with 131 I is a highly sensitive tool for detecting normal thyroid tissue and metastasis of DTC, it is not specific; therefore, false-positive images can be seen in clinical practice, and their recognition is critical for correct management. Evaluation of false-positive uptake is important because it may be confused with metastatic involvement. Here, we present a rare false-positive result of whole-body scan in a patient with DTC. To our knowledge, it is the first report on 131 I uptake of conjunctival concretions.

RESUMO

ABSTRACT: Although distant cutaneous metastasis is an uncommon presentation of prostate cancer, it remains an important diagnostic consideration as an advanced disease and a poor prognosis. Herein we present a rare case of prostate cancer patient whose multiple cutaneous metastases were treated with 177Lu-PSMA-617 radioligand treatment. To our knowledge, it is the first report in which a complete response was seen with 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT scan after 177Lu-PSMA-617 radioligand treatment.
