RESUMO

Purpose: The study was designed to describe the level of family resilience and identify the protective factors and vulnerability factors of family resilience in families of children with epilepsy. So as to provide theoretical guidance for implementing intervention programs to promote family resilience. Methods: From November 2020 to July 2021, 258 parents of children with epilepsy were investigated using a convenience sampling method. The questionnaire included demographic data, Chinese-Family Resilience Assessment Scale, Social Support Rating Scale, and the Beck Depression Inventory. SPSS25.0 was used for descriptive statistical analysis, univariate analysis, and multivariate linear regression analysis. Results: In this study, two hundred and fifty-eight primary caregivers completed the paper questionnaires. The total score of family resilience was (134.97 ± 16.57), which was above the medium level. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that subjective support (ß=0.327, P<0.001), comorbidity (ß=0.181, P<0.05), objective support (ß=0.117, P<0.05), and parental depression (ß=-0.158, P<0.05) were significantly related to family resilience. These variables contribute 31.7% of the variance in family resilience (F=18.07, P< 0.001). Conclusion: The families of children with epilepsy presented appropriate resilience after the children were diagnosed with epilepsy. Family resilience was correlated with multiple factors, subjective and objective support could be protective factors, comorbidity and parental depression could be vulnerability factors of family resilience. Therefore, future psychosocial interventions could focus on enhancing subjective support and objective support, reducing parental depression, and screening for epilepsy comorbidity to promote the family resilience of children with epilepsy.

RESUMO

Neutrophils constitute the largest proportion of nucleated peripheral blood cells, and neutrophils have substantial heterogeneity. We profiled nearly 300,000 human peripheral blood cells in this study using single-cell RNA sequencing. A large proportion (>50%) of these cells were annotated as neutrophils. Neutrophils were further clustered into four subtypes, including Neu1, Neu2, Neu3, and Neu4. Neu1 is characterized by high expression of MMP9, HP, and RGL4. Neu1 was associated with septic shock and significantly correlated with the sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA) score. A gene expression module in Neu1 named Neu1_C (characterized by expression of NFKBIA, CXCL8, G0S2, and FTH1) was highly predictive of septic shock with an area under the curve of 0.81. The results were extensively validated in external bulk datasets by using single-cell deconvolution methods. In summary, our study establishes a general framework for studying neutrophil-related mechanisms, prognostic biomarkers, and potential therapeutic targets for septic shock.

RESUMO

A continuous flow cascade of multi-step catalytic reactions is a cutting-edge concept to revolutionize stepwise catalytic synthesis yet is still challenging in practical applications. Herein, a method for practical one-pot cascade catalysis is developed by combining Pickering emulsions with continuous flow. Our method involves co-localization of different catalytically active sub-compartments within droplets of a Pickering emulsion yielding cell-like microreactors, which can be packed in a column reactor for continuous flow cascade catalysis. As exemplified by two chemo-enzymatic cascade reactions for the synthesis of chiral cyanohydrins and chiral ester, 5 - 420 fold enhancement in the catalysis efficiency and as high as 99% enantioselectivity were obtained even over a period of 80 - 240 h. The compartmentalization effect and enriching-reactant properties arising from the biomimetic microreactor are theoretically and experimentally identified as the key factors for boosting the catalysis efficiency and for regulating the kinetics of cascade catalysis.

RESUMO

A simple tunable dual-wavelength fiber laser was developed and multiple self-mixing interferometry to large step height measurement was demonstrated. The fiber laser, which can emit two wavelengths without laser mode competition, is composed of a single fiber ring cavity and two fiber branches. Each branch includes a length of erbium-doped fiber and a fiber Bragg grating. Large step heights can be measured using multiple self-mixing interference of the two wavelengths. The maximum height that can be measured is half synthetic wavelength of the two wavelengths. A step height of 2mm constructed with two gauge blocks has been measured. The standard deviation of measurement results is 2.5nm.
