Synthesis of dinitrochalcones by using ultrasonic irradiation in the presence of potassium carbonate.

The synthesis of dinitrochalcones was studied by using ultrasonic irradiation in the presence of potassium carbonate as a catalyst, which provided a conventional procedure with the advantages of a short reaction period and as high as 90% product yield.
