[Ultrasonographic diagnosis of tumors and non-tumor diseases in mass preventive examination of the rural population]. / Ul'trazvukovaia diagnostika opukholei i neopukholevykh zabolevanii pri massovykh profilakticheskikh obsledovaniiakh sel'skogo naseleniia.

Ultrasound diagnostical examinations were performed during mass prophylactic check-ups in cotton-growing collective farms of Kashkadar'inskaya Region. Out of 903 examinees cancer was detected in 1 patient (0.11%), benign tumors in 11 (1.2%), precancer in 25 (2.7%), nontumor diseases in 298 (33.0%). The lesions were predominantly localized in the gastrointestinal and urogenital tracts. It is advisable to organize paid mobile teams at regional consultative and diagnostic centers for broad-scale check-ups of rural population. Screening programs of such teams are to include diagnostic ultrasound.

[Ultrasound examination of the hip joint in infants]. / Ul'trazvukovoe issledovanie tazobedrennogo sustava u detei grudnogo vozrasta.

The authors investigated 236 hip joints in children aged from 10 days to 3 months by ultrasound method. Joints were classified after Graph in 4 types. Angular values of osseous and cartilaginous reference points of hip joints are determined and therapeutic measures are prescribed depending on the joint type. Sonography provides quite objective information about non-cartilaginous elements of a joint and deserves spreading in all areas.

[Ultrasonic diagnosis of hepatic echinococcosis]. / Ekhotomografiia pri ékhinokokkoze pecheni.

Echotomography was used in the complex examination of 84 patients operated upon for echinococcosis of the liver. An analysis of the data obtained has shown echotomography to be highly sensitive in patients with cavital newformations. The method is expedient to be used first in the complex examination of patients with any pathology of the liver for the detection of patients with echinococcus disease, for the establishment of the topographic localization and recurrences of the pathological process.

[Experience in the use of flexible echo-probes in the ultrasonic diagnosis of tumors of the oral cavity]. / Opyt primeneniia gibkikh ékhozondov v ul'trazvukovoi diagnostike opukholei polosti rta.

The use of a flexible echo-probe with a special handle-holder makes it possible to examine every site in the oral cavity. As analysis of echograms recorded in 20 healthy persons and 33 patients with tumours in the oral cavity has shown the intraoral echography supplies objective information on conditions of oral cavity sites inaccessible for examinations with routine transcutaneous echography.

[The diagnostic efficacy of Soviet echotomoscope ETS-R-01 in pediatrics]. / Issledovanie diagnosticheskikh vozmozhnostei otechestvennogo ékhotomoskopa ETS-R-01 v pediatrii.

Healthy (134) and diseased (852) children at the age of 1 to 15 have been examined using a multi-purpose ultrasonic diagnostic device model eTC-P-01. A special attention has been paid to methodological aspects of echographic examinations of different organs in children as well as to echotomographic semiotics characteristic for diseases of the soft tissues, thyroid gland, liver, spleen, kidneys, and urinary bladder. Follow-up echographic observations of internal organs have been pointed out to be useful in the course of prescribed therapy. The recommendations are given how to improve echotomoscopes for pediatric studies.
