RESUMO

A new eco-friendly sensor, 3-((6-((4-chlorobenzylidene)amino)pyridin-2-yl)imino)indolin-2-one (CBAPI) was synthesized and well characterized. The CBAPI sensor was employed for detecting Zn2+ and Fe3+ ions. It exhibited a low limit of detection at pH 6.0, with values of 2.90, for Zn2+ and 3.59 nmol L-1 for Fe3+ ions. The sensor demonstrated high selectivity over other interfering cations. Additionally, the high binding constants reflect the great affinity of sensor towards Zn2+ and Fe3+ ions. To further validate its quantification ability for Zn2+ ions, the synthesized CBAPI sensor was used to determine Zn levels in human hair samples, and the results were confirmed using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). The AGREE metric tool was used to assess the method's environmental impact and practical applicability. These positive outcomes indicated that the new method for detecting Zn2+ and Fe3+ ions is environmentally friendly and safe for humans. The developed CBAPI sensor represents a potential development in metal ion detection, combining sensitivity, selectivity, and rapidity.

RESUMO

To overcome the threat of corrosion and its cost, a new Schiff base was prepared and utilized to synthesize inorganic inhibitors to enhance corrosion resistance and reduce current density. The Schiff base was obtained from the interaction of cefotaxime with acetylacetone, while 1H NMR and IR spectra were used to confirm the preparation. Moreover, FeIII, CoII, NiII and CuII metal salts were reacted with the Schiff base to give the corresponding complexes. Meanwhile, the non-ionic behavior of the observed complexes in solutions was proved from the conductance results. In addition, the octahedral geometry and the postulated structure of complexes were determined from CHNM%, IR spectroscopy, UV-visible spectra, and TGA analysis. Also, the energy of molecular orbitals (HOMO and LUMO) and other quantum mechanics parameters were calculated using the DFT method. The observed results indicated the reactivity of metal complexes and their ability to donate electrons more than the Schiff base. Furthermore, the corrosion rate of a steel sample under various concentrations of inhibitors was calculated by a potentiodynamic polarization test. The obtained data displayed that metal complexes declined the corrosion rate more than the Schiff base; therefore, the binding between the metal ion and the Schiff base improved the inhibition efficiency.

RESUMO

3(2H)-Pyridazinone derivatives based on 4-biphenyl, naphtha-2-yl, pyridine, or piperidine moiety were synthesized and characterized using I-R and 1HNMR spectra. The activity and cytotoxicity of some synthesized compounds on the skin epidermoid cancer cell proliferation and progression were investigated. The pyridazine isomer with pyridine revealed a significant decrease in the level of nitric oxide p < 0.01 than the activity of caffeine phenecyl ester. The activity of the three active isomers recorded significant activity for their total antioxidant content that triggers their ability for the scavenging the oxygen free radicals significantly p < 0.01. Moreover, revealing the pharmaceutical activity of the isomers as anti-inflammatory agents, IL-6, IL10, and IL12 have been decreased by variable significant values. Additionally, the active isomers revealed variable actions on the skin cancer cell to induce apoptosis using annexin V-FITC/PI. Pyridine was the highest isomer to induce late apoptosis and necrosis for the skin cancer cells against the use of cisplatin. Importantly, Molecular modeling experiments including docking and dynamic simulations were done for the most active 3 analogs to explore the ligand binding and stability leading to exploring the structure-activity relationship with biological target PARP1 which showed a good binding propensity to pyridazine binding site which supports the in vitro data. In conclusion, the pyridazine moieties with piperdine, naphthayl, and pyridine have pharmacological activities against skin cancer epidermoid by triggering action in inhibition of the proliferation and progression with an up-regulated apoptotic mechanism that evades the emergence of cisplatin resistance among different cancer cells.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. RESUMO

We report the synthesis of novel [4-(3-amino-4-mehoxy-5-methyl phenyl)-1-oxo-1H-phthalaz-2-yl] acetic acid hydrazide (APPH), followed by its characterization using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transforms infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, 1H-NMR spectroscopy, and LC/MS. Further, the inhibition effect of the varying concentration of APPH on the corrosion of low steel (LCS) in 0.5 M H2SO4 was investigated by weight loss and electrochemical measurements at 30 °C. The percentage inhibition efficacy of APPH increased with concentration and reached about 84% at 0.5 mM at 30 °C, also rising to 88% after 6 h of exposure. According to the polarization measurements, the investigated APPH works as a mixed-type inhibitor. Furthermore, the synergistic corrosion inhibition mechanism APPH showed that the inhibition efficiency maximizes with increasing inhibitor concentration, and the maximum value was 83% at 0.5 mM APPH. The adsorption of APPH on the LCS surface is more fitting to the Langmuir isotherm model. The free energy value (-ΔG° ads) was 33.3 kJ mol-1. Quantum chemical calculation was applied to APPH and acted as excellent support for the experimental data.
