RESUMO
Studying the duodenal ontogenesis by means of morphometric and histochemical methods demonstrated that protective barrier of the organ is formed in the embryonic period and may be characterized by chemical composition of its secretion as a resistant barrier, formed by neutral and acid glycoproteins.

As many as 117 patients with inpalpable testis redux were examined. They had undergone selective testicular venography with measurements of testosterone content in random blood samples after stimulation with human chorionic gonadotropin. The data obtained during all-round investigation make it possible to estimate the morphological status of the testes and their functional reserves. This forms the basis for recommending an optimal treatment method in each specific case of inpalpable testis redux.

In patients with gastric cancer, depending on location of a tumor, the left gastric or right gastroepiploic artery was catheterized via a puncture of the femoral artery, the course of polychemotherapy with fluorouracil and adriablastin was carried out, then the operative treatment was performed. In 62.4% of the patients, the complete, in 18.8%--the partial destruction of a tumor was achieved, in 18.8%, the effect was insignificant.

A new method was developed for therapy of Icenko-Cushing's disease using transcatheter transvenous destruction of the adrenals (TTDA) to replace commonly used adrenalectomy. TTDA was performed by means of venous extravasation of a radiopaque agent (76% verografin solution) and its deposition in the organ parenchyma. TTDA was performed in 57 patients with Icenko-Cushing's disease using 3 tactical approaches including roentgenovascular intervention: bilateral TTDA, unilateral TTDA combined with unilateral adrenalectomy and unilateral TTDA combined with chloditan. TTDA is an effective method of invasive suppression of function of the cortex of the endocrine glands. TTDA superiority over surgical methods of therapy Icenko-Cushing's disease is that an effect of adrenalectomy is achieved without a risk of surgical intervention and narcosis.

The selective testicular venography can establish the presence and localization of undescended non-palpable testes in children. The morphofunctional state of non-palpable undescended testes can be estimated on the basis of the data obtained which helps to make a correct choice of the surgical treatment.
