[Comparative characteristics of the diagnostic properties of staphylococcal allergens in an experiment]. / Sravnitel'naia kharakteristika diagnosticheskikh svoistv stafilokokkovykh allergenov v éksperimente.

The diagnostic value of five staphylococcal allergens prepared from a single S. aureus strain by different methods and in different institutions has been tested on the experimental models of delayed, immediate and mixed (immediate and delayed) hypersensitivity in guinea pigs. The advantages of the allergens prepared in Kazan (USSR) for the detection of delayed hypersensitivity and the ultrasonicated allergen, as well as the allergen made in Czechoslovakia, for the detection of immediate hypersensitivity have been noted.

[Development of allergic reactivity to Artemesia pollen during combined sensitization to pollen and microbes]. / Formirovanie allergicheskoi reaktivnosti k pyl'tse polyni pri sochetannoi sensibilizatsii k pyl'tse i mikrobam.

Some regularities of formation of hypersensitivity of the immediate type to the pollen of Artemisia absinthium were studied under conditions of combined hypersensitivity to pollen and Brucella abortus 19-BA vaccine strain; the latter was administered 3, 12, and 28 days after the pollen. The degree of specific allergic reconstruction to the pollen was studied by passive skin anaphylaxis after Ovary, indirect degranulation of mast cells of healthy rats, and by general anaphylaxis in response to intravenous injection of the Artemisia absinthium pollen water-salt extract. Early formation of allergy to the pollen was observed in the groups of animals with combined hypersensitivity to the pollen and brucellae. The degree of allergic reactivity to the pollen allergen was more expressed in the groups with combined allergy than in those with pure pollen hypersensitivity at all the stages of this experiment.

[Increased streptomycin sensitivity and its associations with microbial allergy]. / Izuchenie povyshennoi chuvstvitel'nosti k streptomitsinu i sochetanii ee s mikrobnoi allergiei.

Regularities of streptomycin hypersensitivity development and its association with microbial allergy were studied on 75 guinea pigs. A model of retarded allergy was obtained by the animal sensitization with streptomycin in doses of 20 000 gamma per 1 kg of the body weight. Two procedures were used for the animal sensitization, i.e. with the use of the Freund adjuvant or without it. Positive skin-allergic tests to streptomycin (mainly 24-hour) were registered 2 weeks after discontinuation of the sensitization and persisted for the whole observation period (up to 6--8 weeks). The tests for the leucocyte migration were also positive and precipitating antibodies were found in the serum according to the Hoigné method. Simultaneous sensitization with streptomycin and staphylococci resulted in some suppression of the development of retarded hypersensitivity to the microbial antigen. Subsequent sensitization at first with staphylococci and then with streptomycin favoured a mutual increase in the allergic reconstruction to both antigens. The histomorphological studies confirmed the data of the immunoallergological examination.

[Formation of increased delayed hypersensitivity to the microbial antigen in animals preliminarily sensitized with pollen]. / Formirovanie povyshennoi chuvstvitel'nosti zamedlennogo tipa k mikrobnomu antigenu u zhivotnykh, predvaritel'no sensibilizirovannykh pyl'tsoi rastenii.

Combined forms of allergy to the wormwood pollen and brucellae was experimentally reproduced. Guinea pigs were sensitized primarily with the wormwood pollen, and in 3 weeks, 2 and 4 weeks with brucellae, in addition. Preliminary (2 and 4 weeks before brucellae administration) sensitization with the said pollen aided accelerated and marked formation of delayed allergy to the microbial antigen. The effect of intensification of microbial allergy was temporary. In administration of the microbes directly after the pollen allergen no significant influence of the latter on the formation of allergic reactivity to brucellae was noted.
