RESUMO

A cultured milk mixture "Narine" (strain 317/402 lactobacilli and relevant metabolic products) given to 58 patients with various functional disorders and inflammation of the colon associated with dysbacteriosis resulted in a pronounced positive effect as related to intestinal microflora in 96.6% of the patients. In 75.8% of cases dysbacteriosis discontinued within 10 days.

RESUMO

The prophylaxis of purulent omphalitis is an urgent problem of epidemiology and obstetrics. A high morbidity rate in omphalitis and umbilical sepsis has been noted after the treatment of the umbilical bed by commonly used methods. As revealed in our investigations, two new treatment methods have proved to be highly effective for this purpose: treatment with the preparation Narine-phi containing the metabolic products of lactobacterial strain 317/402 Narine and treatment with the film-forming preparation Lifuzol. Both methods have made it possible to achieve a significant decrease in the contamination of the umbilical bed of newborns by hospital microorganisms and in morbidity rate in purulent omphalitis as compared with those in the control group.

RESUMO

Investigations carried out by the authors have disclosed that practically all infants discharged from maternity clinics are S. aureus carriers, and 91.66-97.06% of them have proved to be epidemiologically dangerous as the source of infection. The use of lactic-acid bacteria, strain 317/407 "Narine" for the colonization of the nasal cavity of infants has led to a decrease in the total number of carriers up to 55.17%, and in the number of epidemiologically significant carriers up to 12.5%.

RESUMO

The study of antagonism between S. aureus hospital strains and lactic acid bacteria, strain 317/402 "Nariné", revealed that the latter possessed high antagonistic activity. A new method for the sanitation of carriers of S. aureus hospital strains was developed; this method made it possible to limit the epidemiological significance of 82% of these strains.

RESUMO

The microflora from the Armenian yoghurt was studied during its growth on the optimal for the medium (skim milk) using objectives of the Peshkoff system. It was shown that certain organisms of Lactobacterium jogorti tended to branch at the early stages of their growth, and the cells elongated and formed complex coils and helices by the third-fourth day of growth. Compact aggregates of cocci having angular outlines appeared in the culture of Streptococcus thermophilus by the end of the second day of growth. Lysis of individual organisms, and occasionally zones of lysis, were found in the both cultures at certain stages of their growth. Cultures grown for 4-5 days were characterized by wide polymorphism.

RESUMO

Changes in the cell wall and various stages of lysis become manifested on the 1-2 day of development of the yogort bacteria. Heteromorphous individuals appear both in the culture of streptococci and rods. The nuclear apparatus of the yogort bacteria is exteremely polymorphous whereas in the streptococci it undergoes changes from compact nucleoids which are either round or crescent shaped or take the form of massive super-nuclei in heteromorphous individuals. A certain dynamics of fat and metachromatin (volutin) was noted in the process of the development of the culture. The presence of correlation was shown among the maximal fermentative activity of the culture, the beginning of lysis, the appearance of heteromorphous forms and volutin accumulation.
