RESUMO
Nasoalverolar cyst are nonodontogenic maxillary cysts, rare and benign, which are more common in females and blacks. Their diagnosis can be established mainly on the clinical presentation, being usually asymptomatic during several years until they are large enough to cause cosmetic deformities and/or nasal obstruction, with asymmetrical alar flare. The treatment of choice is the complete surgical excision via a sublabial approach. Five cases diagnosed and treated at the Santa Maria del Rosell Hospital are reported, describing the most relevant clinican and pathological findings, so the diagnostic ant therapeutic methods.

Inverted papilloma is a benign sinonasal tumour with a high recurrence rate and its treatment must be surgery, using endonasal surgery or external aproach. We present a retrospective study of 23 cases treated in our center from 1988 to 2003. There 15 males and 8 females with a mean follow-up of 6 years. The recurrence rate was 40,9%. Patients who underwent endonasal surgery had a recurrence rate of 36,6% and those who underwent external approach surgery had a recurrence rate of 45,5%. There was a 4,5% of association with carcinoma. Endonasal surgery might be a valid surgery approach for the treatement of inverted papilloma in select cases

Since 1992, when our department acquired a flexible fiberscope with a working channel, we have used it in surgery on the upper respiratory and digestive tract. We call our technique laryngeal fiberscopic surgery. We report the results of four years of experience in this field. A total of 368 surgical interventions were performed, almost half to remove benign lesions of the vocal cords (polyps, nodules, etc). This technique is a major advance in our field of study. Its main advantages are avoidance of general anesthesia and hospitalization, reduction of surgical risk, and savings of time and money. We consider it to be a useful alternative to traditional direct laryngoscopy (Kleinsasser technique) for many applications.

The AA. present a case of disseminated primitive melanoma of the rhinopharynx. The main difficulty was to establish the differential diagnosis, owing to the rarity of this tumor's type in such a sitting. The patient showed intracranial metastases which took him to death in a short term.

Report of one case of Bell's peripheral bilateral facial paralyse in a woman, 62-year-old. This bening acute cranial polyneuritis is a frequent complaint, but its bilaterally makes the interest of the case. Report of one case of Laryngocele in a 49 years old male, without previous anamnestic data, but urticaria and orchitis recurrens till the removal of the pyolaryngocele. The diagnosis was awkward because of its rare behaviour with torpid evolution and distant manifestations. The AA. think it was consistent with a septic focus.

We present a case of parotid tuberculosis diagnosed through F.N.A.C. (fine needle aspiration cytology). Due to this rare extrapulmonary location of the tuberculosis, the AA. make a review of the last 12 years concerning literature together with a monographic study of the process.

We have studied a 67 years old woman suffering from a 40 years evolution Pleomorphic adenoma. The specimen weighed 250 g, and showed several areas displaying carcinoma. This report confirms the relationship between long-term evolution and malignant transformation.
