RESUMO

We report an aqueous and near-infrared (NIR) light mediated photoinduced reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (photo-RAFT) polymerization system using tetrasulfonated zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPcS4 -) as a photocatalyst. Owing to the high catalytic efficiency and excellent oxygen tolerance of this system, well-controlled polyacrylamides, polyacrylates, and polymethacrylates were synthesized at fast rates without requiring deoxygenation. Notably, NIR wavelengths possess enhanced light penetration through non-transparent barriers compared to UV and visible light, allowing high polymerization rates through barriers. Using 6.0 mm pig skin as a barrier, the polymerization rate was only reduced from 0.36 to 0.21 h-1, indicating potential for biomedical applications. Furthermore, longer wavelengths (higher λ) can be considered an ideal light source for dispersion photopolymerization, especially for the synthesis of large diameter (d) nanoparticles, as light scattering is proportional to d 6/λ 4. Therefore, this aqueous photo-RAFT system was applied to photoinduced polymerization-induced self-assembly (photo-PISA), enabling the synthesis of polymeric nanoparticles with various morphologies, including spheres, worms, and vesicles. Taking advantage of high penetration and reduced light scattering of NIR wavelengths, we demonstrate the first syntheses of polymeric nanoparticles with consistent morphologies through thick barriers.

RESUMO

Objectives: This study aims to explore the potential mediating role of resilience between care burden and depressive symptoms in family caregivers of stroke patients. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with a convenience sample involving 245 main family caregivers of stroke patients recruited from the neurology department of a Tertiary A hospital in China. Mediation analyses were conducted using the PROCESS macro (Model 4) for SPSS, applying the Bootstrap analysis with 5,000 samples and a 95% confidence interval. Results: The results showed that with constant hemiplegia side, Barthel Index, education level, monthly income, care time per day, and living with patients in regression equations, the resilience partially mediated the correlation of care burden and depressive symptoms with a mediation effect ratio of 26.32%. Conclusions: Resilience plays a mediating role in the correlation between care burden and depressive symptoms. Impact: The findings indicated a protective effect of resilience in alleviating the negative influences of care burden on depressive symptoms, suggesting that resilience-training intervention may be developed to mitigate depressive symptoms of the main family caregivers of stroke patients.

RESUMO

This paper presents a locally resonant metamaterial periodically rearranged as a local resonator, that is hexagonal holes arranged in a thin plate replace the elastic local resonator to achieve the quantum valley Hall effect. Due to the C3v symmetry in the primitive hexagonal lattice, one Dirac point emerges at high symmetry points in the Brillouin zone in the sub-wavelength area. Rotating the beam element of the resonator can break the spatial inversion symmetry to lift the Dirac degeneracy and form a new bandgap. Thus, the band inversion is discovered by computing the relationship between the associated bandgap and the rotational parameter. We also confirmed this result by analyzing the vortex chirality and calculating the Chern number. We can discover two kinds of edge states in the projected band obtained by computing the supercell composed of different topological microstructures. Finally, the propagation behavior in various heterostructures at low frequencies was analyzed. It is shown that these valley Hall elastic insulators can guide elastic waves along sharp interfaces and are immune to backscattering from defects or disorder. By utilizing elastic resonators, a simple reconfigurable topological elastic metamaterial is realized in the sub-wavelength area.

RESUMO

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, the home quarantine policy was implemented to control the spread of the pandemic, which may have a positive impact on the improvement of air quality in China. In this study, Google Earth Engine (GEE) cloud computing platform was used to obtain CO, NO2, SO2 and aerosol optical depth (AOD) data from December 2018-March 2019, December 2019-March 2020, and December 2020-March 2021 in Shandong Province. These data were used to study the spatial and temporal distribution of air quality changes in Shandong Province before and after the pandemic and to analyze the reasons for the changes. The results show that: (1) Compared with the same period, CO and NO2 showed a decreasing trend from December 2019 to March 2020, with an average total change of 4082.36 mol/m2 and 167.25 mol/m2, and an average total change rate of 4.80% and 38.11%, respectively. SO2 did not have a significant decrease. This is inextricably linked to the reduction of human travel production activities with the implementation of the home quarantine policy. (2) The spatial and temporal variation of AOD was similar to that of pollutants, but showed a significant increase in January 2020, with an average total amount increase of 1.69 × 107 up about 2.54% from December 2019 to March 2020. This is attributed to urban heating and the reduction of pollutants such as NOx. (3) Pollutants and AOD were significantly correlated with meteorological data (e.g., average temperature, average humidity, average wind speed, average precipitation, etc.). This study provides data support for atmospheric protection and air quality monitoring in Shandong Province, as well as theoretical basis and technical guidance for policy formulation and urban planning.
