Intravital neck computer tomography images were studied in 140 persons aged from 20 to 75 years without the thyroid gland pathology. Considerable individual variability of the topographical features was noted in tomographic images obtained at the same level, as well as the clear-cut age-related changes of the thyroid gland. Morphometric studies of the thyroid gland was performed, and their results were used to establish the average quantitative parameters of the organ. Gender-related differences were found in thyroid gland tomographic sections. Age-related changes of the average distances between the thyroid gland and the neighboring organs and blood vessels were detected. It is suggested that the results of computer tomographic study provide the data on thyroid gland intravital anatomy and topography.

This article describes the method of quantitative estimation of computer tomograms, which served as the basis for description of morphometric and skeletotopic parameters of the pancreas and thyroid gland that were obtained as a result of study of 320 persons aged from 20 to 70 without pathology of these glands.

Condition of nerve cells of the cerebral hemisphere cortex was studied in 105 dogs with induced one-side caroticojugular anastomosis in terms from one day to one year. Acute swelling and hydropical reversible changes were found in nerve cells in early stages of the caroticojugular anastomosis existence. Irreversible changes-desquamation and progressing atrophia of nerve cells, leading to appearance of the cell devastation foci in cerebral hemisphere cortex in late stages developed after one month.

The literature data and the results of a study of genetic blood markers of the ABO system in pulmonary tuberculosis patients and in 1947 donors (control group) are given in relation to the ethnic appurtenance. There is a relation between the incidence of a blood group to the ethnic appurtenance and nationality of the subjects examined. For example, in Asian subjects (Kazakhs) the B(III) blood group is much more common, while the O(I) and A(III) blood groups are in the Europeans. The nature of the specific process depended, to a certain degree, on the blood group. The minor forms of tuberculosis and a more benign course were typical of 0(I) and A(II) groups, while in B(III) groups the process course was unfavourable with a tendency to destruction which is responsible for the formation of additional high risk groups of tuberculosis contamination.
