RESUMO
The authors propose the basic system for the management of a spa and resort facility that ensures functioning of all its divisions as an integrated process. It is maintained that organization of a spa and resort facility must include measures aimed at improving its working structure, material and technical resources, marketing plans, financial management, medical services, informational support, and personnel administration.

The existing system of management of sanatorium-and-spa facilities constitutes a major economic risk factor under current socio-economic situation. One of the most important conditions for the sustainable continuation of activities of a sanatorium-and-spa institution is its adaptability to the changing economic environment. Those health care providers are likely to have an advantage in new conditions that offer a larger scope of specialized services, simultaneously reduces their costs and prices, introduce resource-saving technologies, and stimulate motivation of the medical personnel.

Central hemodynamics, diastolic and pumping functions of the heart, myocardial reactivity, microcirculation and biological age of cardiovascular system were studied in 66 elderly patients suffering from hypertension and ischemic heart disease. The patients received systemic magnetotherapy which produced a geroprotective effect as shown by improved microcirculation, myocardial reactivity, central hemodynamics reducing biological age of cardiovascular system and inhibiting its ageing.

Central hemodynamic parameters were studied in 113 normal male subjects, aged 20-59, at rest and during bicycle ergometric exercise, with the help of tetrapolar chest rheography. Capacity for physical exercise was shown to depend on both the age and the basic hemodynamic type. Subjects with hyperkinetic circulation had the greatest, and those with hypokinetic circulation, the smallest capacity for exercise. The evaluation of BP and heart rate patterns, stroke and cardiac indices, and the indicator of heart performance during bicycle ergometry suggested that cardiovascular operation was more economical in normal subjects with eukinetic or hyperkinetic circulation, hence their greater capacity for physical exercise.
