RESUMO

AIM: Given the prolongation of the newly emerging COVID-19 pandemic and the significance of caring for the patients by nursing staff, investigating and planning for the different psychological dimensions of this group is of paramount importance. Hence, this study investigated the role of spiritual intelligence in predicting nurses' empathizing with COVID-19 patients. METHODS: This descriptive-correlation study was conducted in 2021 on nurses caring for COVID-19 patients in three public hospitals. The researchers used two standard questionnaires, including the Jefferson Scale of Empathy (JSE) and Spiritual Intelligence (SI), for data collection. The collected data were analyzed in SPSS16 using descriptive statistics and the following: The Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test, Regression, chi-square test, and Pearson and Spearman correlations. RESULTS: The statistical population consisted of 338 nurses with an average age of 34 and ten years of work experience. There was a significant positive relationship between the empathy scores and spiritual intelligence scores of the nurses caring for COVID-19 patients (P < 0.05). It was also concluded from the regression analysis that, spiritual intelligence affect empathy. Mean score of empathy was higher in hospitals where more nursing staff had MSc degrees. There was a significant difference between the empathy scores of the three hospitals (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: The results indicated that there is a positive relationship between empathy and spiritual intelligence. Therefor improving spiritual intelligence is the appropriate strategy to ameliorate empathy during the COVID19 pandemic. At the same time, study indicated attention to the issue of nurses' mental health. Hence, it was suggested to incorporate these issues in the training programs and national/international decisions.

RESUMO

This paper addresses designing a nonlinear symmetry observer for nano-satellite attitude determination with only Three-Axis Magnetometer (TAM). Hence, two nested filters are delineated to compensate for the lack of data and to solve the observability problem. In the first filter, the magnetic field derivative is estimated by the extended Kalman filter. Subsequently, the magnetic field and its derivative are applied in the second filter. The proposed methodology relies on invariant observers under the action of a Lie group to estimate the attitude and angular velocity simultaneously. Later, the invariant error dynamic equations are utilized in designing the observer. Consequently, the desired performance of this proposed observer tuned by periodic Riccati differential equation is validated through both simulation and exponential stability proof.

RESUMO

New hybrid magnetic composite nanostructure are prepared via ultrasonic treatment by glass-ceramic method, characterized by field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX), element distribution image (EDX mapping), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA)/differential thermal analysis (DTA) and N2 adsorption-desorption by Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analyses. Then, the catalytic activity of the prepared CoFe2O4@B2O3-SiO2 nanoparticles was tested in the synthesis of 2-substituted-3-(phenylamino)-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones in deep eutectic solvent (DES) based on choline chloride as an eco-friendly and recyclable media. This novel protocol offers several advantages such as high yields (70-93%), short reaction times (10-20min), environmentally-friendly reaction media, easily isolation of the products, simple preparation and recoverability of the nanocatalysts (at least 5 times), recyclability of the solvents from the reaction mixture without use of hazardous volatile organic solvent. The catalyst was readily recycled by the use of an external magnetic field and could be reused several times without significant loss of activity or mass. The saturation magnetization of CoFe2O4@B2O3-SiO2 nanoparticles was 8.97emug-1. Their average size distribution was about 12.5nm. DES was a mixture of choline chloride and urea that was recovered from the filtrate by evaporating the water under vacuum.

RESUMO

A supramolecular solvent made up of nano-sized inverted hexagonal aggregates of 1-octanol is proposed for the microextraction of diphenylamine and its mono-nitrated derivatives in unburned single-base propellants. The procedure included the extraction of sub-gram quantities (30 mg) of homogenized propellant with 1.5 mL of the supramolecular solvent. Several conditions affecting extraction efficiency, for example the concentrations of the major components of the supramolecular solvent (tetrahydrofuran and alkanol), alkanol type, solvent pH, and extraction time, were investigated and optimized. The main forces for the microextraction of analytes in the nanostructured supramolecular solvent include both dispersion and hydrogen bond interactions. This mixed-mode mechanism resulted in high extraction efficiencies reaching low method detection limits (0.005-0.012 mg/g) without the need for extract evaporation. Under the optimum conditions, recoveries in samples ranged between about 82.6 and 98.7%. Compared to the reference method, the proposed method is simple and rapid, delivering accurate and precise results, and can be applied for routine determination of diphenylamine and its derivatives in propellants. The precision of the method, expressed as relative standard deviation, was about 4.3-10.9%.
