[Emergency conservative surgery in rupture of angiomyolipoma of the kidney]. / Cirugía conservadora de urgencia por rotura de angiomiolipoma renal.

A case of spontaneous perirenal hematoma from a ruptured angiomyolipoma is described. Diagnosis was made at the time of presentation and treatment was by conservative surgery. The different diagnostic methods and treatment of this condition are discussed.

[Mucinous adenocarcinoma of the urachus]. / Adenocarcinoma mucinoso del uraco.

Malignant tumours of the urachus are very rare and they give certain difficulty in their differential diagnosis with vesical cupula adenocarcinoma. We present a case of mucinous adenocarcinoma of the urachus in a 75-year-old patient and we analyse the behaviour, clinical background, diagnosis and treatment of these tumours.

[An unusual cause of hematuria: periureteral varicose veins]. / Una cause rara de hematuria: "las varices periureterales".

A case is presented of periureteral varicose veins which are rare but which constitute a possible cause of recurring hematuria. The authors analyse the general problems of this process, with regard to its etiopathogeny, clinical picture and differential diagnosis. The treatment must be conservative and involves the disappearance of the symptoms.

[Urine cultures and antibiograms]. / Urocultivo y antibiograma.

A review is made of the urocultures and antibiograms carried out in a period of two months in the Urology Department of a General Hospital. A comparative study is made with the other bacteriological results sent to the laboratory from the different Departments. A study is made of the sensitivity of the isolated stocks to the most widely used antibiotics.

[Sarcomatoid renal carcinoma]. / Carcinoma renal sarcomatoide.

The authors present a case of sarcomatoid kidney adenocarcinome of the fibrosarcomatoid kind. They stress the importance and difficulty of making a differential diagnosis between the sarcomatoid type of kidney adenocarcinomas and pure sarcomas of the kidney, this being an entirely histopathological and extremely complex diagnosis. They comment upon the possible histogenesis in the sense that they may be sarcomatoid areas deriving from the stroma or from a cellular metaplasia of the adenocarcinoma.

The authors present a case of kidney pseudotumour and stress the difficulty of reaching a final diagnosis in relation to the course of therapy.
