RESUMO

The effect of triton X-100 and glutaraldehyde on the changes in Ca(2+)- and Mg(2+)-ATPase activity of erythrocyte plasma membrane under irradiation of rat erythrocytes has been studied. It was found that irradiation of erythrocyte ghosts in a dose of 1000 Gy leads to the inhibition of the both enzymes. Triton X-100 enhanced the radiation effect, while glutaraldehyde decreased Ca(2+)-ATPase sensitivity to the action of radiation. The mechanisms of the effects observed are discussed.

RESUMO

Effect of electrons with the energy 5MeV on the erythrocyte ghosts structure has been investigated using fluorescent probes 1.8-ANS and DSP-12. The number of ANS binding sites was shown to decrease as affected by irradiation. It was found that radiation caused reduction of the erythrocyte membrane surface area.

RESUMO

Ca2+, Mg(2+)-ATP-ase of plasmatic membranes of thymocites were studied as affected by Mg ions. A complex character of the reaction rate dependence on Mg2+ concentration in the range of 0.002-25. OmM was revealed. The data obtained indicate the existence of Mg(2+)-binding centre of ATP-ase which regulates the enzyme catalytic activity.

RESUMO

Effects of non-enzymic peroxidation of lipids of thymocytes plasmic membranes on the activity of Ca(2+)-ATPase was studied. Calculations were made of kinetic and thermodynamic parameters of enzymic reaction and changes of the membrane potential during peroxidation of lipids.

It has been established that sorption of bromthymol blue by membranes is due to interaction with integral proteins. The value of the bond is ascribed both to the structural state and electrochemical property of membranes.
