RESUMO

For preceding treatment of pathological materials, the authors propose a decontaminating agent that contains plivasept at a concentration of 0.08%, the enzyme imozymase and sodium bicarbonate versus decontaminating agents containing chlorohexidine bigluconicum or plivasept alone. The authors' agent increases the proportion of Coch bacterial positive cultures and increases the informative value of luminescence microscopy by reducing the proportion of samples having single mycobacteria in the agent. The use of the proposed decontaminating agent saves the time of attending personnel by reducing the stages of preceding treatment of pathological materials.

RESUMO

A latex antibody diagnostic kit was used to reveal microbacterial antigens in the sputum of patients with tuberculous and nonspecific lung disease in 54 and 38% of cases, respectively. It is suggested that Mycobacterium antigens are present in different tissues of an infected macroorganism.

RESUMO

Sodium salicylate test is used in bacteriological practice to distinguish M. tuberculosis and M. bovis from other mycobacterial species. The species of the strains growing in sodium salicylate media are not as a rule identified. This was done using gas chromatography with cultures which had grown in Lowenstein-Jensen media with sodium salicylate and isolated from the patients admitted to the Tuberculous hospital in 1991-1993. Only 20% of the strains belonged to human mycobacteria, the others were opportunistic or saprophyte mycobacteria (M. avium, M. fortuitum, M. phlei, M. flavescens, M. vaccae, M. smegmatis), some of the cultures were not of the Mycobacterium genus, but belonged to other Actinomycetales. It is evident that with sodium salicylate test one cannot be absolutely sure of Mycobacteria isolation. The strains growing in sodium salicylate medium call for further investigations.

RESUMO

Rapidly growing mycobacteria of two species, i.e. M. fortuitum and M. chelonei caused in humans mycobacteriosis frequently similar in its manifestations to tuberculosis. The both mycobacterial species were resistant to the majority of antituberculous drugs and sensitive to amikacin, dioxycycline, sefmetazole and some sulfanilamides. It was shown that it was possible to identify the mycobacterial species with the routine tests and paper indicator systems.
