RESUMO

The objective of this guide is to provide to nuclear medicine physicians a tool based on scientific evidence and prepared by consensus of experts, to perform the 18F-DCFPyL PET/CT procedure with safely and efficiently for patients with prostate cancer who present PSMA overexpression. For them, some recommendations will be established for 18F-DCFPyL PET/CT examination: reconstruction parameters, presentation of the images and their interpretation. The possible false positives of the procedure will be analysed, how to interpret them and how to avoid them. Finally, all exploration should lead to the preparation of a report that answers the clinician's question. For this, it is recommended to prepare a structured report that includes the PROMISE criteria as well as the classification of the findings according to PSMA-RADS parameters.

AIMS: To analyze whether the gastric emptying profile could define obesity and to study the impact of macronutrients diet composition on gastric emptying in obese and non obese people. MATERIAL AND METHODS: 47 subjects were selected (12 non obese and 35 obese). The study was organized in 4 visits. In each visit the subject was given isocaloric breakfast differing in macronutrient composition, (either equilibrated, or lipid, protein or carbohydrate rich) quantitative gastric emptying assay was done realized, every 15 minutes for two hours using a radionuclide technique. The week prior to the visit, the subject followed a standard 1,800 cal/day diet. RESULT: A significant interaction between time and diet composition is shown regardless of the group (obese or non-obese) the subject belongs to. The different macronutrient composition differentially affected gastric emptying only in the obese group. Post hoc analysis of the results showed significant differences after 45 min post breakfast between protein and carbohydrate rich breakfast. CONCLUSIONS: Gastric emptying in obese but not in non obese subjects, was significantly modified depending on the intake qualitative composition. These differences are clear when protein rich (significantly slower emptying) is compared versus hydrocarbon enriched diet (significantly faster emptying). A significant difference in gastric emptying between obese and non-obese subjects cannot be established.

A total of 44 patients with a range of ages between 34 and 72 were studied by immunoscintigraphy. They have surgical treatment for colon and rectum carcinomas. The immunoradiotracer used was a cocktail of F(ab')2 monoclonal-antibodies anti-CEA and CA 19.9. Planar images were obtained 4th, 6th, and 10th days postinjection. In some cases we used digital subtraction of image. Both CEA and CA 19.9 tumor markers were measured in patients serum. The method shows a global high sensitivity (88%), and specificity (92%).

RESUMO

Authors have carried out 478 IgE determinations by radioimmunoassay on children under 14. 78 determinations on healthy children were used to obtain normal IgE values according to age. The remaining determinations referred to 400 children, who came to the Allergy Department. In 120 cases IgE values above 100 U/ml were obtained. In 97 cases a skin test and a specific IgE determination (RAST) carried out compared to 11 allergens. Authors compared the results in order to evaluate the diagnostic reliability of both tests. The RAST specificity was higher than the skin test. The predictive value of the positive RAST was 0.96. Because of its easy accomplishment, innocuity, high specificity and high predictive value, the total and specific IgE determination turns out to be very useful in the diagnosis of children allergy.
