RESUMO
O artigo que será apresentado é uma revisão de literatura que se refere à utilização de dentes artificiais para a reabilitação de edentados totais ou parciais. Este mesmo apresentará teorias e propostas que foram utilizadas esses anos, na busca de métodos melhores para a escolha dos dentes para próteses, direcionando toda preocupação à orientação dessa seleção, sendo que os principais aspectos a serem analisados são cor, tamanho, largura de anteriores e posteriores, forma e também o material empregado, com a perspectiva de levar os cirurgiões-dentistas à identificação dos fatores relacionados à estes critérios e de, com isso, utilizá-los em sua prática clínica. Além, de também contribuir na definição mais precisa da harmonia estética e ampliar as possibilidades de satisfação no tratamento realizado
The article will be presented is a review of the literature concerning the use of artificial teeth for the rehabilitation of total or partial edentulous. The same theories and present proposals that these years were used in the search for better methods for selection of teeth for dentures, directing all concerned to the orientation of this selection, and the main aspects to be examined are color, size, width and previous later, as well as the material used, with the prospect of bringing the dentists to identify the factors related to these criteria and, thus, use them in their clinical practice.
