RESUMO
A modified method is developed for estimation of citric acid in bone tissue. Citrate was isolated from acid bone hydrolysate without a preliminary deproteinization; then it was oxidized and converted into pentabromaceton by treatment of citric acid with bromine. The content of pentabromaceton was estimated by a photometric method. The method was highly sensitive and reproductible.
