RESUMO

Over the years, the origin of ovarian Leydig cells has been, and still is, a topic subject to deep debate. Seven years ago, we proposed that this origin resided in intraneural elements that came from a possible reservoir of neural crest cells, a reservoir that may be located in the ganglia of the celiac plexus. We believe we have found the evidence necessary to prove this hypothesis.

Intussusceptive angiogenesis (IA) and intussusceptive lymphangiogenesis (IL) play a key role in the growth and morphogenesis of vessels. However, there are very few studies in this regard in vessel tumors (VTs). Our objective is to assess the presence, characteristics, and possible mechanisms of the formation of intussusceptive structures in a broad spectrum of VTs. For this purpose, examples of benign and malignant blood and lymphatic VTs were studied via conventional procedures, semithin sections, and immunochemistry and immunofluorescence microscopy. The results demonstrated intussusceptive structures (pillars, meshes, and folds) in benign (lobular capillary hemangioma or pyogenic granuloma, intravascular papillary endothelial hyperplasia or Masson tumor, sinusoidal hemangioma, cavernous hemangioma, glomeruloid hemangioma, angiolipoma, and lymphangiomas), low-grade malignancy (retiform hemangioendothelioma and Dabska tumor), and malignant (angiosarcoma and Kaposi sarcoma) VTs. Intussusceptive structures showed an endothelial cover and a core formed of connective tissue components and presented findings suggesting an origin through vessel loops, endothelialized thrombus, interendothelial bridges, and/or splitting and fusion, and conditioned VT morphology. In conclusion, the findings support the participation of IA and IL, in association with sprouting angiogenesis, in VTs, and therefore in their growth and morphogenesis, which is of pathophysiological interest and lays the groundwork for in-depth molecular studies with therapeutic purposes.

BACKGROUND: Intrasaccular devices provide a method for treating complex aneurysms without leaving metallic materials in the parent artery. Compared to other well-studied devices in neurointervention, the Contour device is relatively new as an intrasaccular flow diverter. This study examines its use in cases of incidental aneurysms and its application in the acute treatment of ruptured aneurysms. Additionally, it covers potential complications that may arise and methods for prevention. METHODS: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 25 patients who underwent treatment with the Contour device at 3 hospital centers. We collected data related to age, gender, baseline modified Rankin Scale, personal habits, medical history, procedure details, and angiographic results according to the Woven endobridge occlusion scale. RESULTS: A total of 15 patients (65.5%) achieved a satisfactory angiographic result (grade 0-0') 1 year after embolization. Contrast stagnation was observed in 14 patients (58.3%). Intraprocedural complications, such as device displacement, were documented in 3 patients (12%), while 2 patients (8%) had aggregates attached to the device. Regarding late complications, 5 patients (20%) experienced device displacement and 1 patient had a minor stroke (4%). Retreatment was necessary for 3 patients (12%), involving a flow diverter, stenting, and coiling. CONCLUSIONS: In summary, the Contour device offers a viable option for treating complex aneurysms. While initial results are promising, it is crucial to acknowledge a learning curve to minimize complications and achieve satisfactory angiographic results without the need for additional treatments.

BACKGROUND: Although the concordance between cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) Alzheimer's disease (AD) biomarkers and amyloid-PET findings is well known, there are no data regarding the concordance of amyloid-PET with inconclusive CSF values of amyloid-ß (Aß)1 - 42 and p-tau for the diagnosis of AD. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the relationship between the amyloid-PET results with discordant AD biomarkers values in CSF (Aß1 - 42+/p-tau-or Aß1 - 42-/p-tau+). METHODS: An observational retrospective study, including 62 patients with mild cognitive impairment (32/62) or dementia (30/62), suspicious of AD who had undergone a lumbar puncture to determine CSF AD biomarkers, and presented discordant values in CSF between Aß1 - 42 and p-tau (Aß1 - 42+/p-tau-or Aß1 - 42-/p-tau+). All of them, underwent an amyloid-PET with 18F-Florbetaben. An extensive neuropsychological testing as part of their diagnostic process (MMSE and TMA-93), was performed, and it was also obtained the Global Deterioration Scale. RESULTS: Comparing the discordant CSF results of each patient with the cerebral amyloid-PET results, we found that in the group with Aß1 - 42+ and p-tau-CSF values, the amyloid-PET was positive in 51.2% and negative in 48.8% of patients, while in the group with Aß1 - 42-and p-Tau+ CSF values, the amyloid-PET was positive in 52.6% of patients and negative in 47.4% of them. No significant association was found (p = 0.951) between the results of amyloid-PET and the two divergent groups in CSF. CONCLUSIONS: No significant relationship was observed between the results of discordant AD biomarkers in CSF and the result of amyloid-PET. No trend in amyloid-PET results was observed in relation to CSF biomarker values.

BACKGROUND: Endovascular embolization of wide-necked aneurysms can be challenging. The development of intrasaccular devices like the Contour has enabled us to approach these aneurysms effectively by reducing recanalization rates and eliminating the need for dual antiplatelet therapy, which is particularly beneficial in the case of ruptured aneurysms. Although complications from using these devices are rare, it is crucial to address them properly. In this case, the authors highlight how to manage artery thrombosis caused by device protrusion during aneurysm embolization. OBSERVATIONS: This report describes a complication in a male patient with a ruptured anterior communicating artery wide-necked aneurysm. Following Contour-assisted coiling of the aneurysm, a realignment of the detachable apex of the device occluded the A2 segment of the right anterior cerebral artery. After the failure of intra-arterial and intravenous tirofiban infusion as well as mechanical thrombectomy, a self-expanding open-cell stent was deployed in the involved vessel, achieving successful reperfusion. LESSONS: The Contour device has a detachable zone that can cause occlusion of the parent vessel after deployment. The use of a stent as a rescue maneuver may be useful if reperfusion of the vessel cannot be achieved through other methods such as aspiration or full-dose antiplatelet therapy.

The insulin-degrading enzyme (IDE) is an evolutionarily conserved zinc-dependent metallopeptidase highly expressed in the brain, where its specific functions remain poorly understood. Besides insulin, IDE is able to cleave many substrates in vitro, including amyloid beta peptides, making this enzyme a candidate pathophysiological link between Alzheimer's disease (AD) and type 2 diabetes (T2D). These antecedents led us to address the impact of IDE absence in hippocampus and olfactory bulb. A specific induction of microgliosis was found in the hippocampus of IDE knockout (IDE-KO) mice, without any effects in neither hippocampal volume nor astrogliosis. Performance on hippocampal-dependent memory tests is influenced by IDE gene dose in 12-month-old mice. Furthermore, a comprehensive characterization of the impact of IDE haploinsufficiency and total deletion in metabolic, behavioral, and molecular parameters in the olfactory bulb, a site of high insulin receptor levels, reveals an unambiguous barcode for IDE-KO mice at that age. Using wildtype and IDE-KO primary microglial cultures, we performed a functional analysis at the cellular level. IDE absence alters microglial responses to environmental signals, resulting in impaired modulation of phenotypic states, with only transitory effects on amyloid-ß management. Collectively, our results reveal previously unknown physiological functions for IDE in microglia that, due to cell-compartment topological reasons, cannot be explained by its enzymatic activity, but instead modulate their multidimensional response to various damaging conditions relevant to aging and AD conditions.

The suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) is the main region for the regulation of circadian rhythms. Although the SCN contains a heterogeneous neurochemical phenotype with a wide variety of neuropeptides, a key role has been suggested for the vasoactive intestinal neuropeptide (VIP) as a modulator circadian, reproductive, and seasonal rhythms. VIP is a 28-amino acid polypeptide hormone that belongs to the secretin-glucagon peptide superfamily and shares 68 % homology with the pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP). VIP acts as an endogenous appetite inhibitor in the central nervous system, where it participates in the control of appetite and energy homeostasis. In recent years, significant efforts have been made to better understand the role of VIP in the regulation of appetite/satiety and energy balance. This study aimed to elucidate the long-term effect of an obesogenic diet on the distribution and expression pattern of VIP in the SCN and nucleus accumbens (NAc) of C57BL/6 mice. A total of 15 female C57BL/6J mice were used in this study. Female mice were fed ad libitum with water and, either a standard diet (SD) or a high-fat diet (HFD) to induce obesity. There were 7 female mice on the SD and 8 on the HFD. The duration of the experiment was 365 days. The morphological study was performed using immunohistochemistry and double immunofluorescence techniques to study the neurochemical profile of VIP neurons of the SCN of C57BL/6 mice. Our data show that HFD-fed mice gained weight and showed reduced VIP expression in neurons of the SCN and also in fibres located in the NAc. Moreover, we observed a loss of neuropeptide Y (NPY) expression in fibres surrounding the SCN. Our findings on VIP may contribute to the understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying obesity in regions associated with uncontrolled intake of high-fat foods and the reward system, thus facilitating the identification of novel therapeutic targets.

OBJECTIVE: Accurate differentiation between the intracranial and extracranial location of the acute internal carotid artery (ICA) occlusion is essential for guiding treatment decisions and mechanical thrombectomy planning. Multiphase Computed Tomography angiography (mCTA) appears to be superior to Single-phase Computed Tomography angiography (sCTA) in the evaluation of acute ICA occlusions. The main objective of our research is to study the accuracy of mCTA compared to sCTA in distinguishing isolated acute intracranial ICA occlusion from extracranial or tandem occlusion. METHODS: Two observers independently analyzed sCTA and mCTA of patients with acute ICA occlusion at two different time points. The location of the occlusion was categorized as intracranial or extracranial for both imaging techniques and then compared with digital subtraction angiography (gold standard). Sensitivity and specificity rates for isolated intracranial ICA occlusion on sCTA and mCTA were calculated. Kappa statistics were used to assess interobserver agreement. RESULTS: The sensitivity of sCTA and mCTA was 48.28% (28.36%-68.19%) and 79.31% (62.84%-95.78%) respectively for the diagnosis of isolated intracranial ICA occlusion, with an almost perfect interobserver agreement between both observers (p < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Our research suggests that mCTA is more accurate than sCTA in distinguishing isolated intracranial occlusions from extracranial or tandem occlusions.

Telocytes/CD34+ stromal cells (TCs/CD34+ SCs) have been studied in numerous organs and tissues, but their presence and characteristics in the parathyroid glands have not been explored. Using immunological and ultrastructural procedures, we assess the location, arrangement, and behavior of TCs/CD34+ SCs in normal human parathyroids, during their development and in their most frequent pathologic conditions. In normal parathyroids, TCs/CD34+ SCs show a small somatic body and long thin processes with a moniliform aspect, form labyrinthine systems, connect other neighboring TCs/CD34+ SCs, vessels, adipocytes, and parenchymal cells directly or by extracellular vesicles, and associate with collagen I. TCs/CD34+ SCs and collagen I are absent around vessels and adipocytes within parenchymal clusters. In developing parathyroids, TCs/CD34+ SC surround small parenchymal nests and adipocytes. In hyperplastic parathyroids, TCs/CD34+ SCs are prominent in some thickened internodular septa and surround small extraglandular parenchymal cell nests. TCs/CD34+ SCs are present in delimiting regions with compressed parathyroids and their capsule in adenomas but absent in most adenomatous tissue. In conclusion, TCs/CD34+ SCs are an important cellular component in the human parathyroid stroma, except around vessels within parenchymal nests. They show typical characteristics, including those of connecting cells, are present in developing parathyroids, and participate in the most frequent parathyroid pathology, including hyperplastic and adenomatous parathyroids.

INTRODUCTION: Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, an intimate relationship between this disease and cardiovascular diseases has been seen. However, few studies assess the development of heart failure during this infection. This study aims to determine the predisposing factors for the development of heart failure (HF) during hospital admission of COVID-19 patients. METHODOLOGY: A retrospective and multicenter study of patients with HF admitted for COVID-19 in 150 Spanish hospitals (SEMI-COVID-19 Registry). A bivariate analysis was performed to relate the different variables evaluated in patients developing heart failure during hospital admission. A multivariate analysis including the most relevant clinical variables obtained in bivariate analyses to predict the outcome of heart failure was performed. RESULTS: A total of 16.474 patients hospitalized for COVID-19 were included (57.5% men, mean age 67 years), 958 of them (5.8%) developed HF during hospitalization. The risk factors for HF development were: age (odds ratio [OR]): 1.042; confidence interval 95% (CI 95%): 1.035-1.050; p < 0.001), atrial fibrillation (OR: 2.022; CI 95%: 1.697-2.410; p < 0.001), BMI > 30 kg/m2 (OR: 1.460 CI 95%: 1.230-1.733; p < 0001), and peripheral vascular disease (OR: 1.564; CI 95%: 1.217-2.201; p < 0.001). Patients who developed HF had a higher rate of mortality (54.1% vs. 19.1%, p < 0.001), intubation rate (OR: 2,36; p < 0.001), and ICU admissions (OR: 2.38; p < 0001). CONCLUSIONS: Patients who presented a higher risk of developing HF were older with cardiovascular risk factors. The risk factors for HF development were age, atrial fibrillation, obesity, and peripheral vascular disease. In addition, patients who developed HF more frequently required to be intubated or admitted to the ICU.

Extracranial carotid mural lesions (CML), caused by atherosclerosis or dissection, are frequently observed in acute internal carotid artery (ICA) occlusion, often requiring angioplasty or stenting. This study aimed to assess the diagnostic accuracy of computed tomography angiography (CTA) in differentiating extracranial CML from thromboembolic etiology in acute ICA occlusion in patients eligible for endovascular treatment. Two neuroradiologists retrospectively studied patients with apparent extracranial ICA occlusion on CTA. Patients were divided into two groups: thromboembolism and CML, based on findings from CTA and digital subtraction angiography (DSA). CTA sensitivity and specificity were calculated using DSA as the gold standard. Occlusive patterns and cervical segment widening were evaluated for atherosclerosis, dissection, and thromboembolism etiologies. CTA had a sensitivity of 84.91% (74.32-95.49%) and a specificity of 95.12% (87.31-100%) in detecting extracranial CML. Atherosclerosis was the most common cause, distinguishable with high accuracy using CTA (p < 0.001). No significant differences were found in occlusive patterns between dissection and thromboembolism (p = 0.568). Cervical segment widening was only observed in dissection cases due to mural hematoma. Conclusions: CTA accurately differentiates extracranial CML from thromboembolic etiology in acute ICA occlusion. The pattern of the occlusion and the artery widening help to establish the location and the etiology of the occlusion.

BACKGROUND: The anterior lobe of the insular cortex (aINS) is a cortical region that has reciprocal connections with limbic centers such as the anterior cingulate cortex, prefrontal cortex, amygdala and nucleus accumbens (NAc). In fact, the aINS has been involved in the integration of autonomic information for emotional and motivational functions. The compulsive consumption of drugs or high-fat foods induces alterations at both behavioural and brain levels. Brain reward circuits are altered in response to continued intake, in particular the dopaminergic projections from the ventral tegmental area (VTA) to the NAc. The aINS has multiple connections with the components of this system. In recent years, efforts have been made to better understand the fundamental role of the aINS in addiction, making it one of the key centres of interest for research into new treatments for addiction. OBJECTIVES: The present work focuses on studying 1.- whether the human aINS expresses orexigenic peptides such as neuropeptide Y (NPY), a peptide known to induce hyperphagia, and which has been implicated in the onset and development of obesity, 2.- the long-term effect of an obesogenic diet on NPY expression in the aINS and NAc of C57BL/6 mice. METHODS: A total of 17 female C57BL/6 J mice were used in this study. Female mice were fed ad libitum with water and, either a standard diet (SD) or a high-fat diet (HFD) to induce obesity. There were seven female mice on the SD and ten on the HFD. The duration of the experiment was 180 days. We also studied 3 human adult brains (1 male and 2 females, mean age 55.7 ± 5.2 years). The morphological study was performed using immunohistochemistry and double immunofluorescence techniques to study the neurochemical profile of NPY neurons of the aINS and NAc of humans and mice. RESULTS: Our morphological analysis demonstrates for the first time the basal expression of NPY in different layers of the human cortex (II, III, IV, V/VI), in a pattern similar to previous studies in other species. Furthermore, we observed an increase in the number of NPY-positive cells and their intracytoplasmic signal in the aINS and NAc of the obese mice subjected to a long-term obesogenic diet. CONCLUSIONS: To our knowledge, this is the first study to show the distribution and expression of NPY in the human INS and how its expression is altered after prolonged treatment with an obesogenic diet in obese mice. Our findings may contribute to the understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying obesity in regions related to the reward system and associated with uncontrolled intake of high-fat foods, thus facilitating the identification of novel therapeutic targets.

La enfermedad IgA lineal se trata de un trastorno autoinmune poco frecuente. En la infancia aparece sobre todo en edad preescolar, y en adultos es necesario realizar un buen diagnóstico diferencial con otras enfermedades ampollosas como la dermatitis herpetiforme o el penfigoide ampollar. Hasta un cuarto de los casos se relacionan con infecciones o con la toma de medicamentos entre los que destacan antibióticos y antiinflamatorios no esteroideos. El diagnóstico se basa en la clínica, biopsia cutánea e inmunofluorescencia. Típicamente se presenta como ampollas anulares tensas de morfología anular con imagen característica en collar de perlas. Al realizar el estudio de inmunofluorescencia directa se evidencia una banda lineal de IgA en la unión dermoepidérmica. Suele responder de forma completa a la retirada del fármaco causante y al tratamiento con Dapsona oral y glucocorticoides tópicos. (AU)

The neuropeptide neurotensin (NTS) is involved in regulating the reproductive axis and is expressed at each level of this axis (hypothalamus-pituitary-gonads). This dependence on estrogen levels has been widely demonstrated in the hypothalamus and pituitary. We focused on confirming the relationship of NTS with estrogens and the gonadal axis, using a particularly important environmental estrogenic molecule, bisphenol-A (BPA). Based on the experimental models or in vitro cell studies, it has been shown that BPA can negatively affect reproductive function. We studied for the first time the action of an exogenous estrogenic substance on the expression of NTS and estrogen receptors in the pituitary-gonadal axis during prolonged in vivo exposure. The exposure to BPA at 0.5 and 2 mg/kg body weight per day during gestation and lactation was monitored through indirect immunohistochemical procedures applied to the pituitary and ovary sections. Our results demonstrate that BPA induces alterations in the reproductive axis of the offspring, mainly after the first postnatal week. The rat pups exposed to BPA exhibited accelerated sexual maturation to puberty. There was no effect on the number of rats born per litter, although the fewer primordial follicles suggest a shorter fertile life.

Diabetes mellitus is a heterogeneous chronic metabolic disorder characterized by the presence of hyperglycemia, commonly preceded by a prediabetic state. The excess of blood glucose can damage multiple organs, including the brain. In fact, cognitive decline and dementia are increasingly being recognized as important comorbidities of diabetes. Despite the largely consistent link between diabetes and dementia, the underlying causes of neurodegeneration in diabetic patients remain to be elucidated. A common factor for almost all neurological disorders is neuroinflammation, a complex inflammatory process in the central nervous system for the most part orchestrated by microglial cells, the main representatives of the immune system in the brain. In this context, our research question aimed to understand how diabetes affects brain and/or retinal microglia physiology. We conducted a systematic search in PubMed and Web of Science to identify research items addressing the effects of diabetes on microglial phenotypic modulation, including critical neuroinflammatory mediators and their pathways. The literature search yielded 1327 records, including 18 patents. Based on the title and abstracts, 830 papers were screened from which 250 primary research papers met the eligibility criteria (original research articles with patients or with a strict diabetes model without comorbidities, that included direct data about microglia in the brain or retina), and 17 additional research papers were included through forward and backward citations, resulting in a total of 267 primary research articles included in the scoping systematic review. We reviewed all primary publications investigating the effects of diabetes and/or its main pathophysiological traits on microglia, including in vitro studies, preclinical models of diabetes and clinical studies on diabetic patients. Although a strict classification of microglia remains elusive given their capacity to adapt to the environment and their morphological, ultrastructural and molecular dynamism, diabetes modulates microglial phenotypic states, triggering specific responses that include upregulation of activity markers (such as Iba1, CD11b, CD68, MHC-II and F4/80), morphological shift to amoeboid shape, secretion of a wide variety of cytokines and chemokines, metabolic reprogramming and generalized increase of oxidative stress. Pathways commonly activated by diabetes-related conditions include NF-κB, NLRP3 inflammasome, fractalkine/CX3CR1, MAPKs, AGEs/RAGE and Akt/mTOR. Altogether, the detailed portrait of complex interactions between diabetes and microglia physiology presented here can be regarded as an important starting point for future research focused on the microglia-metabolism interface.

Kaposi sarcoma (KS) is an angioproliferative lesion in which two main KS cell sources are currently sustained: endothelial cells (ECs) and mesenchymal/stromal cells. Our objective is to establish the tissue location, characteristics and transdifferentiation steps to the KS cells of the latter. For this purpose, we studied specimens of 49 cases of cutaneous KS using immunochemistry and confocal and electron microscopy. The results showed that delimiting CD34+ stromal cells/Telocytes (CD34+SCs/TCs) in the external layer of the pre-existing blood vessels and around skin appendages form small convergent lumens, express markers for ECs of blood and lymphatic vessels, share ultrastructural characteristics with ECs and participate in the origin of two main types of neovessels, the evolution of which gives rise to lymphangiomatous or spindle-cell patterns-the substrate of the main KS histopathological variants. Intraluminal folds and pillars (papillae) are formed in the neovessels, which suggests they increase by vessel splitting (intussusceptive angiogenesis and intussusceptive lymphangiogenesis). In conclusion, delimiting CD34+SCs/TCs are mesenchymal/stromal cells that can transdifferentiate into KS ECs, participating in the formation of two types of neovessels. The subsequent growth of the latter involves intussusceptive mechanisms, originating several KS variants. These findings are of histogenic, clinical and therapeutic interest.

Microglial cells are recognized as very dynamic brain cells, screening the environment and sensitive to signals from all other cell types in health and disease. Apolipoprotein D (ApoD), a lipid-binding protein of the Lipocalin family, is required for nervous system optimal function and proper development and maintenance of key neural structures. ApoD has a cell and state-dependent expression in the healthy nervous system, and increases its expression upon aging, damage or neurodegeneration. An extensive overlap exists between processes where ApoD is involved and those where microglia have an active role. However, no study has analyzed the role of ApoD in microglial responses. In this work, we test the hypothesis that ApoD, as an extracellular signal, participates in the intercellular crosstalk sensed by microglia and impacts their responses upon physiological aging or damaging conditions. We find that a significant proportion of ApoD-dependent aging transcriptome are microglia-specific genes, and show that lack of ApoD in vivo dysregulates microglial density in mouse hippocampus in an age-dependent manner. Murine BV2 and primary microglia do not express ApoD, but it can be internalized and targeted to lysosomes, where unlike other cell types it is transiently present. Cytokine secretion profiles and myelin phagocytosis reveal that ApoD has both long-term pre-conditioning effects on microglia as well as acute effects on these microglial immune functions, without significant modification of cell survival. ApoD-triggered cytokine signatures are stimuli (paraquat vs. Aß oligomers) and sex-dependent. Acute exposure to ApoD induces microglia to switch from their resting state to a secretory and less phagocytic phenotype, while long-term absence of ApoD leads to attenuated cytokine induction and increased myelin uptake, supporting a role for ApoD as priming or immune training factor. This knowledge should help to advance our understanding of the complex responses of microglia during aging and neurodegeneration, where signals received along our lifespan are combined with damage-triggered acute signals, conditioning both beneficial roles and limitations of microglial functions.

The microvasculature of angiolipoma frequently presents thrombi. Our objectives are to assess whether intussusceptive angiogenesis (IA) participates in vasculature formation in non-infiltrating angiolipoma and, if so, to explore how thrombi are involved in the IA process. For this purpose, we studied angiolipoma specimens (n: 52), using immunohistochemistry, and confocal and electron microscopy. The results showed the presence of folds and pillars, hallmarks of IA, dividing the vessel lumen. Folds showed a cover formed by reoriented endothelial cells from the vessel wall, or from newly formed folds, and a core initially formed by thrombus fragments (clot components as transitional core), which was replaced by extracellular matrix and invaginating pericytes establishing numerous peg-and-socket junctions with endothelial cells (mature core). A condensed plasmatic electron-dense material surrounded and connected folds and pillars with each other and with the vascular wall, which suggests a clot role in fold/pillar arrangement. In conclusion, we contribute to IA participation in capillary network formation in angiolipoma and the immunohistochemical and ultrastructural events by which microthrombosis facilitates IA. Therefore, in addition to the histogenesis of angiolipoma, we provide an easily obtainable substrate for future studies on clot component action in IA, of clinical and therapeutic interest.
