RESUMO

A good integration of dental implants and the surrounding soft tissue is essential to ensure the long-term effect of implant. In this review, we summarized the research progress of peri-implant soft tissue integration of dental titanium implants, with emphasis on the modification of the gingival interface of implants based on immune microenvironment regulation. This method influences the immune response around the implant by promoting the surface properties of implants, so as to enhance the peri-implant soft tissue integration. The purpose of this review is to provide reference for the related research and clinical application in the field of dental implantation.

RESUMO

Objective:To analyze the relationship between ABO blood groups and otoacoustic emissions in full-term newborns, including the occurrence of SOAE and the amplitudes of DPOAE. Method:A total of eighty normal hearing female neonates were included in the study, with equal number of participants in each of the ABO blood group. Measurements of SOAE and DPOAE were collected from both ears of all participants. Result:The blood group O subjects showed significantly fewer SOAE occurrences and lower DPOAE amplitudes at 793 Hz, 1 257 Hz and 1 587 Hz than subjects with other three blood groups both in the left and right ears. Conclusion:The full-term neonates with blood group O have lower SOAE occurrence than other three blood group individual. The blood group O individuals have the lowest amplitude at 793 Hz, 1 257 Hz and 1 587 Hz of both ears.

RESUMO

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is the most common form of endocrine disease in humans; genetic factors are known to contribute to the development of this disease. In this case-control study, we investigated the relationship between the -1082G/A, -819C/T, and -592C/A polymorphisms in interleukin 10 (IL-10) and the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus in a Chinese population. Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (N = 228) and control subjects (N = 240) were recruited from the Department of Endocrinology at the People's Hospital of Linyi City, between September 2013 and April 2015. The IL-10 -1082G/A, -819C/T, and -592C/A polymorphisms were genotyped by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism. Multivariate logistic regression analyses revealed that patients carrying the AA genotype of IL-10 -592C/A were at a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes mellitus compared to those carrying the CC genotype [adjusted odds ratio (OR) = 1.74; 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.03-2.95]. In addition, individuals carrying the A allele of IL-10 -592C/A showed a 1.34-fold higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes mellitus compared to those carrying the C allele (adjusted OR = 1.34; 95%CI = 1.03- 1.75). There was no significant correlation between the IL-10 -1082G/ A and -819C/T polymorphisms and risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus. In conclusion, this study shows that the -1082G/A polymorphism of IL-10 contributes to the onset of type 2 diabetes mellitus, and may be considered a biomarker for early screening of type 2 diabetes mellitus in the Chinese population studied here.

RESUMO

This study aimed to explore the association between ring finger protein 41 (RNF41) c.-206 T > A variant and susceptibility to congenital heart disease (CHD) in the Chinese Mongolian population. The association between RNF41 gene c.-206 T > A polymorphism and CHD was examined in two independent case-control studies consisting of 219 CHD patients and 208 healthy controls. Genotype was determined by direct sequencing of PCR products. We found that the genotype frequencies of RNF41 c.-206 T > A differ significantly between the two groups (P < 0.05). The TT and TA genotypes in the CHD group were 80.67 and 19.33%, respectively. On the other hand, the frequencies of TT and TA in the control group were 94.44 and 5.56%, respectively. Furthermore, the allelic frequencies of CHD patients (T, 90.34%; A, 9.66%) were significantly different as compared with those of non-CHD controls (T, 97.22%; A, 2.78%; χ2 = 4.031, P = 0.041). Our study demonstrates that the RNF41 c.-206 T > A polymorphism may be a risk factor for congenital heart disease in the Chinese Mongolian population.

RESUMO

The septin 7 (CDC10) gene, involved in cellular proliferation, has been previously shown to be expressed at different levels in the longissimus muscle (LM) between low-marbled and high-marbled steer groups by differential-display PCR. It is located within the genomic region of a quantitative trait locus for marbling, and thus was considered as a positional functional candidate gene for marbling. In this study, we showed that the CDC10 expression levels in the LM were positively correlated with marbling in Japanese Black (JB) steers (P<0.0001). Further, an association analysis indicated that a SNP in the promoter region of the CDC10 gene was associated with marbling using 99 JB sires (P=0.03) and 542 JB paternal half-sib progeny steers from a sire homozygous for G allele at the SNP (P<0.0001). These findings suggest possible effects of the expression levels in the LM and the SNP of the CDC10 gene on marbling in JB cattle.

RESUMO

UNLABELLED: Eighteen months of daily consumption of milk containing 250 mg calcium prevented bone mineral density (BMD) loss at the hip and the femoral neck in postmenopausal Chinese women aged 45 to 65. INTRODUCTION: Estrogen-related bone loss in postmenopausal women can be prevented by the consumption of milk with high doses of calcium and soymilk with high doses of isoflavones. However, high doses of calcium and isoflavones may not be necessary to attain a beneficial effect of milk and soymilk on BMD. We hypothesized that BMD will increase in postmenopausal Chinese women who consume daily 250 mg calcium in milk or soymilk. Milk prevented bone loss at the hip and the femoral neck in postmenopausal Chinese women. METHODS: A total of 141 eligible Chinese women without osteoporosis, aged 45-65, and postmenopausal for more than 2 years were randomized into groups receiving for 18 months (A) milk with 250 mg calcium daily, (B) soymilk with 250 mg calcium daily, or (C) neither milk nor soymilk. Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry measured the BMD of the spine and hip at 0, 6, 12, and 18 months. RESULTS: The BMD in the hip (2.52%) and the femoral neck (2.82%) of the women consuming milk was significantly higher (hip, P = 0.01; femoral neck, P < 0.0000001). The women in the control group experienced a reduction in BMD at all sites; the reduction in BMD was only significant at the hip during 12 months (P = 0.008) and at the femoral neck during 18 months (P = 0.005). CONCLUSIONS: Daily consumption of milk containing 250 mg calcium over 18 months prevents BMD loss at the hip and the femoral neck in postmenopausal Chinese women.

RESUMO

One hundred and fifteen patients with inoperable esophageal carcinoma were treated by either chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy plus Rabdosia rubescens. In group A, out of 31 patients treated with pingyangmycin (P) and nitrocaphane (N), 10 (32.3%) responded to the treatment. Among them, 2 showed partial response (greater than 50% tumor regression) and 8 minimal response (greater than 50% tumor regression). In group B, out of 84 patients treated with PN plus Rabdosia rubescens, 59 (70.2%) responded. Of them, 10 showed complete response (100% tumor regression), 16 partial response and 33 minimal response. the one-year survival rates of group A and B were 13.6% and 41.3%. Statistical significance was present in these two groups both in the response rate and one-year survival rate. As regards the drug toxicity, there was no significant difference between these two groups. Alopecia, anorexia, nausea and hyperpyrexia occurred in more than 30% of patients. Mild leukopenia and thrombocytopenia and interstitial pneumonia were noted in some patients, and two patients died of toxicity in the lungs.
