Description by the authors of their experience on external rhinoplasty in 250 cases, the advantage of this technique, compared to the classical extramucosa rhinoplasty and its main indications.

[Correction of the tip of the nose in rhinoplasty]. / Correction de la pointe du nez en rhinoplastie.

It is quite easy to significantly modify the nasal bone. In most cases, the dorsonasal skin, which is often thin and elastic, will adapt to the new osteocartilaginous frame. On the contrary, the thickness is different at the tip of the nose, where the skin is often thicker than at the dorsonasal level. Surgery should preferably be performed first on the tip of the nose, whose new shape will allow adjusting the new structure of the nasal bone.

[The chemical peel]. / Le "chemical peel".

The authors describe the chemical peeling or desquamation method, which more precisely consists of cutaneous exfoliation designed to promote young-looking skin. They are not concerned with the value of exfoliation as a method to prevent skin cancer, the effect of which has been studied by many authors, namely in relation to acnitic (senile) keratosis, radiodermatitis, leukoplasia, scleroderma pigmentosum, epithelioma.

[Necrotizing fasciitis and parotitis. Apropos of a case]. / Fasciite nécrosante et parotidite. A propos d'un cas.

A rare lesion, but one particularly serious because of its evolution, necrotizing fasciitis must be treated surgically by wide debridement extending if necessary to the aponeurosis, even if the affection involves the face. A case with combined parotiditis and necrotizing fasciitis is used as a basis for review of the affection.

[Complex odontoma and composite odontoma. Apropos of 2 cases]. / Odontomes complexes et odontomes composés. A propos de deux observations.

Two cases of odontoma are reported, one lesion being a compound odontoma and the other a complex odontoma, the latter provoking facial pain combined with rhino-sinusal allergic phenomena. These two cases are used as a basis for an update classification of odontomas.

The authors report a case of anhidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (A.E.D.) or Christ-Siemens-Touraine syndrome, which was completely edentated and fitted with prostheses at school age for two reasons: for nutritional reasons, as the child was unable to eat under normal physiological conditions; and for psychological and cosmetic reasons.

Primary malignant melanoma of upper respiratory and digestive pathways are rare rand reputedly more serious than those occurring on the skin. Treatment is usually by surgery with or without combined radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy. A case of primary malignant melanoma of the nasal fossae is reported and diagnostic and therapeutic difficulties discussed.

[Christ-Siemens-Touraine syndrome. A new case]. / Syndrome de Christ-Siemens-Touraine. Un nouveau cas.

A patient with anhidrotic ectodermal dysplasia presented the three classical symptoms necessary to establish an early diagnosis: hypotrichosis, absence or reduction in number of teeth, and absence or diminution of sweat glands. Radiological examination of the maxillary bones (particularly a panoramic image) and skin biopsy provided confirmation of diagnosis. The course of Christ-Siemens syndrome is dominated by the extent of the thermal disorders during the first three months of life, and the functional and psychological disturbances related to the absence of the teeth and to the "appearance" of the patient.
