RESUMO

BACKGROUND: An infected urachal cyst is an uncommon finding in adults. AIM: To report a case of a sigmoid- urachal- cutaneous fistula. CASE REPORT: A 51 years old adult male presented with fecaloid leaking from rupture of an infected urachal cyst. Definitive management consisted of resection of the urachus with a bladder cuff, along with removal of the affected bowel segments. CONCLUSION: Colo-urachal-cutaneous fistula is a rare condition; its management is rather complex.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Retroperitoneal leiomyosarcomas are neoplasma which are best treated with complete exeresis. AIM: We reported three new cases of retroperitoneal Leiomyosarcoma operated during last ten years. CASES: The authors reported 3 cases of Retroperitoneal leiomyosarcomas in 3 patients (2 men and a woman) aged respectively 53, 55 and 57 year-old. Incomplete resection was performed in the 3 cases because of the important local extension. All patients died 18, 19 et 51 months after diagnosis.

RESUMO

Intrauterine contraceptive device is the most popular method of reversible contraception in developing countries due to its efficiency and low cost. However, this device is often inserted by paramedics of variable skills, and follow-up evaluations are irregular or absent which can be the source of major complications. The authors report six cases of intravesical migration of intrauterine contraceptive devices complicated by bladder stones. All the six cases were managed endoscopically with excellent outcome. The authors demonstrate that this major complication can be managed endoscopically with decreased morbidity for the patient.

RESUMO

A case of intravesical hydatid cyst is reported. The cyst was completely evacuated cystoscopically with intravesical instillation of a scolicidal agent (hydrogen peroxide) to destroy scolices and daughter cysts. The postoperative course was uneventful, and follow-up did not show evidence of recurrence. Because this is the first case, to our knowledge, to be reported, little is known about the nonoperative management of such hydatid localization. A recommendation is made, however, to adopt this minimally invasive procedure.
