RESUMO

The effect of sustained isometric contraction on somatosensory evoked potentials (SEPs) was studied. An attenuation of early SEP components N20--P30, P30--N35) was observed during the last minute of the endurance time. The late components (P45--N55, N55--P100) showed a significant increase of the amplitude during the first minute of the contraction. The amplitude of N35--P45 did not change during voluntary contraction, although it was decreased immediately after the contraction. An increase of the integrated EMG of forearm flexors was observed in the last minute of the endurance time. The maximal voluntary contraction was decreased immediately after the sustained contraction. The observed changes in SEPs could be attributed to possible changes in sensory information and motor command due to motor task.

RESUMO

EP to a test click appears in the auditory cortex of alert intact dogs in 30--40 ms after the conditioning click (period of the so called absolute refractory state). The curve of the recovery of the second EP has a complex periodic character with two stages of complete recovery of the early EP complex amplitude: rapid initial after 80--180 ms, and final, 280--430 ms after presentation of the conditioning click.

RESUMO

In the course of formation of temporary connection between a nonverbal visual stimulus and an emotional word, interhemispheric functional relations are significantly changed. The conditioned stimulus elicits local activation mainly in the visual cortex of the left hemisphere, which results in reversion of interhemispheric relations during latency of cortical evoked response. In the "associative" area, the elaboration of the temporary connection does not affect latency and amplitude of the evoked response to the conditioned stimulus. Extinction of the temporary connection and, hence, recovery of the interhemispheric functional relations observed before its elaboration, proceeds slowly, and sets in after 100-150 presentations of the signal without reinforcement.
