O moderno mundo do trabalho, por demanda do capital, em que os prazos e as pressões são evidenciados, alteram a dinâmica física e mental do ser humano o que traz o aumento dos riscos à saúde do trabalhador. O presente estudo buscou conhecer os impactos na saúde dos trabalhadores das Usinas Hidrelétricas de Santo Antônio e Jirau do Rio Madeira -Rondônia sob a ótica dos trabalhadores. A relevância da pesquisa pautou-se na percepção da pouca visibilidade do tema saúde do trabalhador nos grandes empreendimentos, em especial as hidrelétricas. Elegeu-se metodologia com abordagem qualitativa na utilização da figura do ego focal para possibilitar o acesso a esses trabalhadores. O objetivo foi conhecer as condições de trabalho e os possíveis riscos à saúde dos trabalhadores do consórcio construtor,descrever as vivências de trabalhadores das Usinas Santo Antônio e Jirau, propor medidas mitigadoras na vigilância dos impactos e riscos em saúde, e mecanismos de intervenção intersetorial para a melhoria das condições de saúde no trabalho, visando subsidiar ações de Vigilância à Saúde do Trabalhador. A pesquisa empírica foi realizada fora do ambiente dos canteiros de obra, na qual participaram 23 trabalhadores de diversas funções, foi utilizado o critério saturação na escutados sujeitos. The modern world of work, the demand for capital, where the deadlines and pressuresare evident, alter the physical and mental dynamics of the human being which brings increased risks to worker health. This study sought to ascertain the impacts on health ofworkers in Santo Antônio and Jirau Madeira River hydroelectric plants - Rondônia fromworkers perspective. The relevance of the research was based on the perception of poorvisibility of occupational health issue in large projects, especially hydropower plants. It waselected methodology with qualitative approach in the use of focal ego to enable access tothese workers. The objective was getting to know the working conditions and possible healthrisks to workers from construction consortium, describe the experiences of workers at the plants Santo Antônio and Jirau, propose mitigation measures in monitoring impacts and health risks, and mechanisms for intersectoral action for the improvement of health conditionsat work, aiming to subsidize the Occupational health Surveillance. Empirical research was carried out of the environment of the construction site, whichwas attended by 23 employees of different functions, the saturation criterion was used in the subject listening. The main source of data was the talk of the workers who responded toindividual semi - structured interview. The approach to the subject of secrecy was maintained, supporting their employment.
