RESUMO

In this article materials obtained during treatment of 61 patients with acute poisoning with phenobarbital, which is part of Corvalol and Valocordin, are presented. It has already been established that phenobarbital acute poisoning in elderly and senile patients is accompanied by more frequent development of central nervous system, respiratory system (pneumonia) and cardiovascular system complications, which cause more severe clinical course and risk of an adverse outcome of acute poisoning. This research has shown that for hypoxia correction during phenobarbital acute poisoning in elderly and senile patients it is advisable to include Reamberin in the treatment regimen, which has no adverse effects on central haemodynamic parameters and effectively reduces severity of metabolic disorders.

RESUMO

This review is focused on the substrate antihypoxant reamberin used in intensive therapy of acute poisoning with special reference to the mechanisms of its action consisting in the reduction of the severity of metabolic disorders manifested as a decrease of tissue hypoxia, recovery of antioxidant defense and suppression of the activity of lipid peroxidation and endotoxicosis. The antihyhypoxant activity of reamberin is apparent as the reduction of the hypoxic brain lesions in patients with acute poisoning which leads to a significant improvement in the clinical course of acute poisoning and decreases the number of adverse outcomes.

RESUMO

Based on investigation of a group of patients with heavy forms of sharp poisoning by neurotropic substances, it is established that inclusion if antihypoxant reamberin in intensive treatment of toxicohypoxic encephalopathy leads to a decrease in the depth of central nervous system depression. This is manifested by reduced duration of patient stay in coma and decreased total duration of resuscitation treatment. Improvement of the clinical picture is accompanied by a decrease in lipid peroxidation activity, increase in the level of antioxidant enzymes, and decrease in the level of NR2A auto-antibodies. That is objective evidence of the efficiency of neuroprotective therapy by reamberin.

RESUMO

The efficacy of cytoflavin as a supporting drug in the CAF chemotherapy of breast cancer was studied. It was estimated by the tolerability, the peripheric blood index dynamics, the patients general condition (Karnovsky Index) and the frequency of the side effects. For the immediate estimation of the polychemotherapy and cytoflavin effects on the cytoprotection natural system state, the dynamics of the glutathione metabolism and the lipid peroxidation in the erythrocytes was investigated.

RESUMO

Experimental data on the influence of repeated administration of doxorubicin in a dose of 2.24 mg/kg on the glutathione exchange in heart tissues and erythrocytes of white outbred rats are presented. It was shown that disorders in the natural cytoprotection system caused by the introduction of this cardiotropic agent, can be corrected using a combined preparation of cytoflavin.

RESUMO

Experimental data on the influence of omnipak-350 introduction in a dose of 20 g/kg on the glutathione exchange processes and lipide peroxidation in kidneys, liver and erythrocytes of white outbred rats are presented. The possibility of using cytoflavin for correcting x-ray contrast agent-induced disorders in the natural cytoprotective system is shown. Probable mechanisms of the cytoprotective effect of the proposed pharmacological treatment are discussed.

RESUMO

The experimental data concerning the influence of repeated administration of cyclophosphamide in a total dose of 200 mg/kg on the glutathione metabolism and lipid peroxidation in the liver and kidneys of albino noninbred rats are presented. The possibility of the natural cytoprotection system correction by the use of cycloflavin was shown. The cytoprotection action mechanisms of the pharmacological agent are discussed.

RESUMO

Experimental data are presented on the influence of acute doxorubicin intoxication with 7.47 and 2.34 mg/kg body mass on glutathione metabolism in cardiac tissues of albino non-inbred rats. Doxorubicin toxic effect resulted in such marked changes as decreased concentration of reduced glutathione and abnormal levels of glutathione reductase, glucoso-6-phoshate dehydrogenase, glutathione peroxidase and glutathione-S-transferase. Possible causes of such biochemical changes as well as their role in causation of doxorubicin cytotoxic effect are discussed. New methods of prophylaxis and lab diagnosis of doxorubicin-induced cardiomyopathy are suggested.

RESUMO

Sixty-six patients with acute poisonings with neurotropic toxins (soporiphics, neuroleptics, antidepressants, ethanol and its surrogates) were examined and treated. Clinical data and correction of disorders in free-radical processes in acute poisonings with these toxins indicate the efficiency of adding reamberine to combined therapy of this patient population.

RESUMO

Intensity of lipid peroxidation in the liver, kidney and brain tissues, and functioning of the glutathione system were studied in purebred rats after acute intoxication by 1.1-dimethyl hydrazine at the dose of 104.5 mg/kg of body mass (LD50) and phenyl hydrazine at the dose of 170 mg/kg of body mass (LD50). According to results of the investigation, the character and direction of changes in LPO and the antioxidant system due to intoxication by hydrazines are materially dependent on their structure and affected organs and tissues. For instance, intoxication by phenyl hydrazine markedly activates free-radical activation in all analyzed tissue with accumulation of malone dialdehyde against depletion of reduced glutathione in tissue and deactivation of enzymes involved in the antioxidant defense. Intoxication by dimethyl hydrazine was associated with moderate activation of free-radical oxidation in liver with a downward LPO trend in kidney and brain at the cost of exaggerated activity of enzymes in the glutathione system and maintenance of sufficient reserve of reduced glutathione. Hence, aryl hydrazine derivatives possess more distinct pro-oxidant properties.

RESUMO

The levels of reduced glutathion, activity of glutathion peroxidase, and glutathion S-transferase were measured in human peripheral blood mononuclears. The adapted methods permit measurements of glutathion system parameters in immunocompetent cells and can be used in patients with different immunopathological processes.
