RESUMO

The morphology and antigenic properties of 34 phages of Vibrio parahaemolyticus and V. alginolyticus strains isolated from Black Sea water, as well as their range of lytic activity and specificity of action, have been studied. Most of these phages have been found to lyze both V. parahaemolyticus and V. alginolyticus strains. In addition, highly specific phages capable of lyzing only V. parahaemolyticus serotype O5:K15, have been detected. The latter fact is a precedent indicating the possibility of search for other typing phages and the development of the scheme for the phage typing of V. parahaemolyticus in future.

RESUMO

The study confirming the existence of the steppe-type natural focus of tularemia on the Kerch peninsula has been carried out. For the first time the cultures of Francisella tularensis have been isolated. Voles and house mice play the main role in the circulation of the infection. The parasitic system comprises ticks (Ixodidae and Nyalomma), as well as some species of fleas. In carrying out erizootological studies for detecting tularemia in the Crimea the use of low temperature (0 degrees C) for the preservation of specimens and preparations in recommended.

RESUMO

A total of 38 serovars have been found in the territory of the Crimea: 35 in humans and 34 in various environmental objects; of these, 4 serovars (17, 21, 27, 35) have been isolated only from humans, and 3 serovars (4, 20, 33) only from sewage water. NAG vibrio serovars isolated predominantly from patients and vibriocarriers were serovars 2, 5, 7, 10, 17, 39, 47 and 50. These serovars also caused the severe and nearly severe course of infection. A pronounced focal character of NAG vibrio infection and an essential role of everyday contracts in the transmission of NAG vibrios are pointed out.
