RESUMO

The authors studied therapeutic potential and mechanism of action of low-intensity low-energy laser irradiating the skin at the site of the projection of the transplanted kidney poles through the development of chronic rejection or chronic pyelonephritis. The trial included 7 kidney recipients and 9 controls with primary chronic pyelonephritis. The treatment course implied 10 daily session of 20 minutes duration of He-Ne laser irradiation which was preceded by clinical-laboratory evaluation of the blood and urine, cellular and humoral immunity, hemostasis, central hemodynamics, local and mediator hormones, factors of nonspecific resistance, spin probe characteristics. The effect appeared contradictory. It is thought valid to combine quantum and drug therapy thus achieving optimal therapeutic effects and preventing side effects.

RESUMO

The paper provides the results of a clinical observation of 20 potential kidney donors having various agonal periods. Significant changes in beta 2-microglobulin levels in blood and urine depending on the agonal duration were established. The nature of the changes in biological fluids suggest their significance in early diagnosis of renal ischemic lesions during the agonal period, as well as in the prognostic assessment of organ viability and functional adequacy.

RESUMO

Physical hyperthermia caused distinct increase in content of serotonin in liquor and its decrease in hypothalamus of rabbits and rats, while histamine and PGE2 were unaltered in liquor of these animals. Considerable increase of PGE2 in liquor simultaneously with unaltered content of serotonin and histamine were detected in rabbits with pyrogenal-caused fever. A decrease in PGE2 content and elevation of serotonin were found in animals liquor after normalization of body temperature within 7 hrs of the pyrogenal treatment. The biogenic amines studied appear to serve as constituents of the natural antipyretic body system in animals, whereas PGE2 belongs to factors responsible for elevation of body temperature.

RESUMO

A rapid and high sensitive radioenzymatic method of determination in the rat brain basal ganglia of dopamine (DA) and 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (DHPA) whose methylated derivatives were divided by extraction with organic solvents is proposed. The method sensitivity for DA is 0.25 ng in a sample and for DHPA 0.1 ng in a sample. The yield of the internal standard is 80-85%. The method is high specific, the cross reaction during determination of DA and DHPA does not exceed 5%. The study of the effects of some dopaminergic agents (apomorphine, haloperidol. L-DOPA and pargyline on the contents of DA and DHPA in the rat brain basal ganglia in vivo confirms a high specificity of the method. The method may be used for screening of pharmacological compounds possessing the suggested dopaminergic and antimonoamine oxidase activity.

RESUMO

The authors described a radioimmunoassay developed for the determination of beta 2-microglobulin (beta 2-M) concentration in human serum and urine using 125I-labeled beta 2-M. This method permitted the determination of beta 2-M concentration within 0.5-50 mg/l in the blood serum and within 0.02-50 mg/l in urine. beta 2-M concentration determined by this assay, was 1.71 +/- 0.58 mg/l in the blood serum and 0.097 +/- 0.32 mg/l in the urine of healthy persons.
