[Clinical and immunologic characteristics of patients with histiocytosis X]. / Kliniko-immunologicheskaia kharakteristika bol'nykh gistiotsitozom X.

Characteristic features of the clinical course and immune status were studied in 24 histiocytosis X patients. Immunologic studies were carried out in 15 histiocytosis X patients by the methods that characterize the T- and B-lymphocyte systems, their sensitivity to tuberculin, the receptor apparatus of lymphocytes and neutrophilic granulocytes and autoimmune processes. The immune status of these patients is distinguished by disorders caused by secondary cellular deficit combined with the imbalance of the immunoregulatory cell system. Disorders of the B-cell link of the immune system are less pronounced and there is a drop in the production of natural antibodies and IgM. A high degree of sensitization to tuberculin was detected in the in vivo and in vitro tests, which indirectly testifies to the tuberculous origin of histiocytosis X.

[The efficacy of hemo- and enterosorption in the combined treatment of patients with chronic asthmatic bronchitis]. / Effektivnost' gemo- i énterosorbtsii v kompleksnom lechenii bol'nykh khronicheskim astmaticheskim bronkhitom.

Data are reported of a comparison of the clinico-immunological efficacy of hemo- and enterosorption in the complex treatment of patients with chronic asthmatic bronchitis. It was found that both sorption methods associated with adequate drug treatment produce a pronounced immunocorrective effect but hemosorption normalizes more quickly the functional activity of T-lymphocytes and number of circulating immune complexes while enterosorption normalizes more quickly the number of T-lymphocytes.

[Effectiveness of administration of thymalin in the complex treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis]. / Effektivnost' primeneniia timalina v kompleksnom lecvhenii bol'nykh tuberkulezom legkikh.

The criteria of differential administration of thymalin in the combined management of patients with destructive pulmonary tuberculosis were defined on the basis of immunologic studies. A ++clinico-roentgenologic and immunologic evaluation of in-patient treatment of 60 cases demonstrated that a differential administration of thymalin in combination with chemotherapeutic drugs greatly shortened the stay at a hospital and increased the efficacy of treatment. Besides, more evident normalizing influence of the proposed option of therapy on the recovery of the immune system links is noted.

[Clinico-immunological substantiation of the use of rifampicin in the combined therapy of adults and adolescents with destructive pulmonary tuberculosis]. / Kliniko-immunologicheskoe obosnovanie primeneniia rifampitsina v kompleksnoi terapii vzroslykh i podrostkov s destruktivnym tuberkulezom legkikh.

The effect of various doses of rifampicin on intensity of rosette formation was studied, and the immunological criteria for selective use of the drug in combined specific chemotherapy of extended destructive tuberculosis of the lungs were determined. It was shown that differential use of rifampicin with an account of its administration multiplicity and route promoted a decrease in the hospitalization terms and increased rate of discontinuation of tubercle bacilli isolation and cavern healing. The clinicoroentgenological findings were confirmed by the immunological tests characterizing various elements of the immunity system in patients.
