RESUMO
Se realizó un estudio prospectivo, longitudinal y de intervención en 34 pacientes con diagnóstico de hipertensión arterial, del Consultorio del Médico de Familia (CMF) 3, perteneciente al Policlínico Universitario Romárico Oro Peña, del municipio de Puerto Padre, Provincia de Las Tunas, en el periodo de septiembre de 2010 a mayo de 2011; con el objetivo de evaluar la efectividad de la auriculoterapia y fitoterapia en dichos pacientes. El universo estuvo constituido por 71 pacientes con este diagnóstico, la muestra fue compuesta por 34 pacientes con hipertensión ligera y moderada. El grupo de edades de mayor incidencia fue de 56-65 años de edad y el sexo que más incidió fue el femenino, existieron efectos adversos en dos pacientes, el tratamiento resultó efectivo y más económico (AU)
A longitudinal, prospective and intervention study was carried out in 34 patients diagnosed with arterial hypertension at Romárico Oro Policlinic in Puerto Padre municipality, in Las Tunas Province, from September, 2010 to May, 2011, with the objective to evaluate the effectiveness of the auricular and phyto-therapy treatment in hypertensive patients. The universe involved 71 diagnosed patients assisted in the doctor´s office number 3 at Romárico Oro Policlinic; the sample was composed by 34 slight and moderate hypertensive patients. The age group of highest incidence was from 56 to 65 years old, two patients suffered adverse reactions, and females prevailed. The treatment was effective, and more economic (AU)

Se realizó un estudio prospectivo, longitudinal y de intervención en el Policlínico Romárico Oro Peña del municipio Puerto Padre, provincia Las Tunas, en el período comprendido de enero a abril de 2009, con el objetivo de determinar la efectividad del tratamiento acupuntural en los pacientes con hipertensión arterial. El universo estuvo constituido por el total de pacientes atendidos en la consulta de cuerpo de guardia por presentar cuadro clínico de hipertensión arterial, con una muestra de 100 pacientes, a los cuales se les aplicó tratamiento acupuntural. Los síntomas que predominaron en los pacientes fueron: cefalea occipital, vértigo y opresión torácica; el grupo de edades de mayor incidencia fue el de mayores de 56 años y el sexo que predominó fue el femenino; el tratamiento acupuntural resultó ser efectivo; existieron efectos adversos en un mínimo de casos (AU)
A prospective, longitudinal and interventional study was carried out at the Romárico Oro Peña polyclinics of Puerto Padre in Las Tunas from January to April, 2009 to determine the effectiveness of the acupunctural treatment in patients with high blood pressure. The universe included all the patients treated at the emergency consultation due a medical condition of high blood pressure, with a sample of 100 patients who were treated with acupuncture. The symptoms prevailing in the patients were occipital migraine, dizziness and thoracic tightness; the age-group of major incidence was that over 56 years old and the predominant sex was the female one. The acupunctural treatment turned out to be effective and there were side effects in only a few cases(AU)
