Brazilian Psychiatric Association guidelines for the management of suicidal behavior. Part 3. Suicide prevention hotlines

Crisis hotlines are direct communication systems, usually telephone-based, set up to prevent suicide. However, few studies have evaluated their effectiveness. The present study aims to perform a systematic review, using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) framework, of the effectiveness of interventions through direct communication systems to reduce the number of suicides or suicide attempts. We searched the MEDLINE, Cochrane, SciELO, and ClinicaTrials.gov databases, and used the 2011 Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine Levels of Evidence classification. The literature search yielded 267 studies, of which 35 fulfilled the selection criteria. Although significant heterogeneity was found among studies, there is evidence that direct telephone interventions are effective when included in broader preventive protocols and provided by trained staff. Despite the limitations, which included heterogeneity of samples, designs, and outcome measures, we were able to design a protocol for the use of remote services to prevent suicide and suicide attempts. A hotline or similar system could be an effective intervention for broader suicide prevention programs. However, further research is necessary to specify which protocol components are key to enhance effectiveness. Systematic review registry number: PROSPERO CRD42020206517

Este trabalho procura uma melhor compreensão dos mecanismos do esquecimento e da memória, enfatizando a importância não apenas do que é lembrado, mas, principalmente, de como a possibilidade de esquecer é fundamental para a formação de nossas memórias. Há uma ênfase no conceito da memória enquanto construto, e na aplicação deste conceito à Psicanálise.(AU)

This paper endeavors to reach a better understanding of the mechanisms of memory and of forgetfulness, underlining the importance not only of what is remembered but, especially, of how the possibility of forgetfulness is paramount to the formation of our memories. O serial Killer com héroi da pós-modernidade

O personagem Hannibal Lecter, assim como a figura do serial killer, vem chamando a atenção da mídia, com grande popularidade e tomando proporções verdadeiramente mitológicas. Neste texto procuro deslindar as raízes míticas do serial killer no cinema e literatura, assim como a relação entre os personagens e a tendência a desumanização e despersonalização da cultura atual. Faço também referência, como termo de comparação, ao filme "Little Murders"

The character of Hannibal Lecter, as well as that of the serial killer, has been drawing the media attention, with great popularity and so taking veritable mythical aspects. In this paper I endeavor to unravel the mythical roots of the serial killer in the movies and literature, as well as the relationship between these characters and today’s culture tendency to de-humanization and depersonalization. I also refer to the film "Little Murders", as a term of comparison

The importance of the doctor-patient relationship in adherence to HIV/AIDS treatment: a case report.

In this case report, which includes a statement related by the patient himself, the authors also discuss the importance of a good doctor-patient relationship in treating HIV patients and in assuring the patient's adherence to his treatment. Related issues, such as the importance of treating psychiatric comorbidities, of preserving the patient's hope and motivation, and of giving him an adequate amount of information regarding the disease and its treatment, are also discussed.

A Psicanálise foi criada com objetivo tríplice: corpo teórico/tratamento/ método de investigação.
