Examinations of 70 patients with keeled deformation of the chest (KDC) have revealed signs of connective tissue dysplasia in all the examinees, as well as heart rhythm and conduction disorders. Echography has shown ventricular and atrial septal defects, mitral valve prolapse, dilatation of the aortic root, tricuspidal valve prolapse, abnormally located chorda. The development of KDC in the presence of external connective tissue stigmata, involvement of the cardiovascular system, changed dermatoglyphic pattern of the palms and fingers (as evidenced by dermatoglyphic analysis), as well as findings of histologic examinations of the cartilage removed in the course of thoracoplasty may indicate a generalized abnormality of the connective tissue in this patient population and KDC may be regarded as one of its manifestations.

[Treatment of chronic bursitis by a local cryogenic procedure]. / Lechenie khronicheskikh bursitov metodom lokal'nogo kriovozdeistviia.

Treatment of 92 patients with bursitis of different localizations by routine methods was followed by recidivations in 51.1% of the cases. Seventy patients were treated by cryodestruction. The follow-up observation of the patients during 1-2 years did not reveal any recidivations.

[Characteristics of the T-system of immunity in patients with craniocerebral injuries]. / Kharakteristika T-sistemy immuniteta u bol'nykh s cherepno-mozgovoi travmoi.

The T immunity system in patients with isolated and combined craniocerebral trauma is characterized during the course of the posttraumatic period. The revealed T lymphocytopenia and decrease in the fraction of the immunoregulating cells are, on the one hand, the cause of the frequent inflammatory complications and, on the other, conducive to the development of autosensitization of the organism to the brain antigens, which was confirmed in study of the specific features of delayed hypersensitivity.

The clinic of such injuries is characterized by marked local manifestations (solid progressive edema of the injured limb leading frequently to decompensated ischemia) and a high incidence of acute renal insufficiency. Hemostatic disorders are manifested in hyperkalemia, hyponatremia, hypocalcemia, cell-extracell transfer of electrolytes, metabolic disorders in the myocardium, as evidenced by EEG findings. It is the authors' opinion that therapeutic measures should be aimed at liquidation of the progressive edema (hypothermia, fasciotomy), prevention of acute renal insufficiency and correction of metabolic disorders.
