[Health and life-style of students].

It is established that the increase of morbidity with highly active chronic development is an integral characteristic of students' health. The unfavorable tendencies in health conditions are conditioned by the improper life-style. The specificity of students' life-style relates to the professional targeting of the education and gender trends. The conceptual model of healthy life-style formation includes such blocks as the parameters of life-style, the risk factors, the deviations in health conditions, the activities in life-style enhancement.

[Data on predicting the status of body functions of the engineering and technical personnel in the mines]. / Materialy k prognozirovaniiu funktsional'nogo sostoianiia organizma inzhenerno-tekhnicheskikh rabotnikov v shakhtakh.

Reliability of mine foremen influences greatly the group microclimate, productivity and safety of work in mines. Engineering and technical personnel with high level of professional reliability shows the best parameters of psychophysiologic status. Criteria are worked out to score the most informative psychophysiologic functions in mine foremen during the preliminary and regular check-ups of such personnel.

[Characteristics of physiological reactions during work in coal miners with hypertension]. / Osobennosti fiziologicheskikh reaktsii v protsesse truda u gornorabochikh ugol'nykh shakht, stradaiushchikh gipertonicheskoi bolezn'iu.

Vegetative equilibrium disorders in hypertensive-diseased miners resulted from pathologic developments in the limbic -reticular structures. Those were characterized by a hyperfunction of the ergotropic nerve formations. The vegetative control reorientations were accompanied by narrowing the amplitude of the homeostatic regulation vegetative reactions and engaging the mechanisms of adaptation. The vegetative state stabilization in the diseased workers was attained through a partial avoiding ot the most labour-intensive forms of activity and choosing more preferable labour operations. But the latter did not entirely exclude the labour conditions which would result into inadequate vegetative reactions.

[Characteristics of the health status of mine rescue workers]. / Osobennosti sostoianiia zdorov'ia gornospasatelei.

A detailed clinico-functional examination allowed to reveal changes in some systems of the body of mine rescuers, namely disorders of external respiratory function of obstructive, restrictive and mixed types, increased tone of the cerebral and peripheral vessels, reduction of their blood filling evidencing unfavourable effects on the rescuer's mechanism connected with psychoemotional overstrain and specific professional factors.

[The effect of tobacco smoking on the function of the cardiorespiratory system of operators]. / Vliianie kureniia tabaka na sostoianie kardiorespiratornoi sistemy operatorov.

The group of tobacco smoking persons showed during rest, loads and in the restorative period more distinct disorders of cardio-vascular system values. There were no distinct signs of disorders in the ventilatory function of the lungs in the compared groups. In the groups of smokers the body mass was in the average 4.9 kg less.

[Effects of moderate alcohol consumption on the cardiovascular system of male operators]. / Vliianie umerennogo upotrebleniia spirtnykh napitkov na serdechno-sosudistuiu sistemu muzhchin-operatorov.

It was established that among male workers of an energy enterprise there were 53.7% of moderate consumers of alcohol, absolute and relative abstainers--respectively 5.4% and 26.4%, regular consumers--14.7%. Alcohol addicts were not revealed. At rest, the pulse arterial pressure (PAP) in operators--moderate consumers of alcohol was by 10.9% lower (P less than 0.005) and was by 16.3% higher (P less than 0.005) than those in the sample group. The heart rate indices were tending to increase both in standing and sitting positions. The diastolic (DAP) and systolic (SAP) arterial pressure levels did not significantly change. In response to a moderate physical load the SAP and PAP indices in alcohol consumers vividly increased as compared with those in the sample group--respectively by 7.2% (P less than 0.005) and 41.4% (P less than 0.005).

[Structure and dynamics of systemic organization of the cardiorespiratory function during the adaptation process of miners to occupational factors in deep coal mines]. / Struktura i dinamika sistemnoi organizatsii kardiorespiratornoi funktsii v protsesse adaptatsii gornorabochikh k faktoram truda v glubokikh ugol'nykh shakhtakh.

Characteristics of the systems organization of the cardiorespiratory function were analyzed in miners of different age. The findings were compared to the data on labour turnover, work efficiency and the rate of cardiovascular diseases. It is indicated that an initial adaptation period in deep coal mines was accompanied by the stress of vegetative regulatory mechanisms, significant labour turnover and low work efficiency of miners. The stage of resistant adaptation was characterized by raising functional flexibility, decrease in labour turnover and elevation of the degree of professional work capacity. For miners aged 35 and older the process of systems restructuring of vegetative functions was followed by the decrease in labour efficiency and significant growth of cardiovascular diseases.
