RESUMO

Between 1972 and 1981 a total of 121 male and female wine-dressers with late after-effects from arsenic were medically examined and treated. Skin and liver were examined regularly every 3 months. With advancing years an increase in typically arsenic melanosis, precancerous, carcinomas and hyperkeratosis in palmae and plantae was observed. A significant increase in Dupuytren's contracture was found in the age groups between 50 and 80 with a growing progression of typically arsenic horned pearls on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. The typically arsenic horned pearls and arsenical keratosis occurred most frequently in the Dupuytrenical changes of the skin. The liver parameters showed no pathological results such as cirrhosis of the liver as compared with the other patients.

RESUMO

The patient is a 28-year-old hairdresser who began his apprenticeship after school and has worked in this profession since then. Within the last two years fistulas formed on both hands between the second and third fingers in which hairs accumulated during his daily work of cutting hair. So an infection with lymphadenitis occurred. The excision lead to the histological result of an interdigital pilonidal-sinus.

RESUMO

During the years 1972--1976 an overall number of 122 vine-dressers of the middle Moselle region called for examination, control, and medical treatment because of late damages caused by arsenic intoxication. In 1976 there were twenty-two new cases. By keratolytic treatment, excision, cauterization, and X-ray therapy a considerable reduction of precancerous and carcinous degenerations of the skin caused by arsenic in the form of keratosis and melanosis of the head, rump, arms, chest, volae and plantae could be achieved. By comparing two groups of vine-dressers with skin damages caused by arsenic a distinct reduction of praecancerous and carcinous degenerations of the predestined skin regions could be seen in those who had had medical treatment. A 3 months' dermatological survey of the patients is required.

RESUMO

After a longlasting psoriasis (25-30 years) and after an arsenotherapy of psoriasis per os fifteen years ago an arsenic-caused injury occured with formation of a melanoma within the surrounding psoriasis. In examinating comparable Moselle vine dressers with late arsenic-caused injuries during the years 1972-1975, altogether 1600 examinations, precancerosis, basaliomas, morbus-Bowen, spinaliomas, and transitional epithelium carcinomas have been found and have been histologically confirmed. No melano malignom has been found. Al in eleven other cases of vine dressers with arsenic-caused late injuries showing keratosis, precancerosis, and basaliomas together with a long-lasting psoriasis vulgaris no melano malignom has been found.
