treptococcus intermedius is an anaerobic bacterium and a member of the Streptococcus anginosus group. It is a commensal bacterium of the oral cavity and nasopharynx, which is known for its potential ability to form brain abscesses by contiguity or hematogenous dissemination from infections of the otorhinolaryngological sphere. Central nervous system infections due to members of this group are life-threatening and need multidisciplinary management. Imaging with computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging should be performed as soon as possible to evaluate the collections requiring drainage. Timely initiation of surgical intervention and appropriate empirical antibiotic therapy are essential to ensure a correct evolution. (AU)

Three cases of childhood tuberculosis are presented: first and second cases are two brothers of 5 years and 2.0 months old respectively with pulmonary tuberculosis, household contacts of the index case: their mother, who was affected by smear-positive pulmonary tuberculosis, four months after visiting their country of origin (Morocco); both brethren were diagnosed by positivity of the tuberculin test and radiographic study. The third case is a 9 ycar old girl, juvenile idiopathic arthritis patient treated With immunosuppressive therapy, who has developed miliary tuberculosis with meningoencephalic involvement and she was initially diagnosed by the study of an adenopathy (AU)

Congenital dislocation of the knee is a rare disease. The diagnosis is made at birth by clinical findings, and confirmed radiologically. It has been associated with various etiologies from intrauterine fetal malpositions to genetic disorders. The prognosis depends on early treatment and whether there are other congenital anomalies. We report two new cases of congenital dislocation of the knee, observed in our hospital during the period of a month, diagnosed immediately after birth, and both with a good clinical outcome

UNLABELLED: Four cases of newborn infants presenting congestive heart failure in the first two weeks of life with the clinical suspicion of cerebral arteriovenous fistula which was subsequently confirmed by cerebral echography or TAC and, after death, by necropsy, are described. Only one patient survived, the one treated surgically. CONCLUSION: It is necessary to carry out urgent diagnosis with an early surgical operation, the only possibility of survival for these children.
