RESUMO

To determine the best control technology for dioxin in waste incineration flue gas, a three-level comprehensive evaluation index system with environment, economy, and technology as the first-level indexes was constructed. The fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method and the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) were used to evaluate ten dioxin pollution control technologies or technology groups including "double bag activated carbon adsorption technology," "sulfur and sulfide inhibition technology," and "sulfur and sulfide inhibition technology+activated carbon fixed bed reactor technology". The "sulfur and sulfur compound inhibition technology+activated carbon fixed bed technology" scored the highest, and thus is currently the best control technology for dioxin pollution in waste incineration exhaust gas. This technology is suitable for small rural waste incinerators to ensure that dioxin emissions meet the standards. Depending on the local economic development level, enterprise scale, furnace profile, and technological process, waste incineration enterprises in various regions of China can adopt this index evaluation system and method to evaluate the dioxin control technologies and select the best one suitable for the enterprise so that dioxin emissions in the waste incineration flue gas can be effectively controlled.

Herein, a rapid and sensitive current-volt measurement was developed for identifying the IS6110 DNA sequence to diagnose Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB). An aminated capture probe was immobilized on a 1,1'-carbonyldiimidazole-functionalized interdigitated electrode (IDE) silica substrate, and the target sequence was detected by complementation. It was found that all tested concentrations displayed a higher response in current changes than the control, and the limit of detection was 10 fM. The sensitivity ranged from 1 to 10 fM. The control sequences with single-, triple-mismatch and noncomplementary sequences showed great discrimination. This rapid and easy DNA detection method helps to identify M. tuberculosis for early-stage diagnosis of TB.

In the present study, we aimed to investigate the effect of transplantation of cardiac stem cells (CSCs) overexpressing integrin-linked kinase (ILK) on cardiac function of rats with acute myocardial infarction (MI). A total of 60 rats were randomly divided into normal saline (NS) group (n=20), green fluorescent protein (GFP)-CSC group (n=20) and ILK-CSC group (n=20). In the ILK-CSC group, CSCs in rats were transfected with GFP adenovirus vector overexpressing ILK. The rat model of MI was established. The cardiac function 4 weeks after transplantation was detected via echocardiography, and the exhaustive swimming experiment was performed to observe the exercise load capacity. Moreover, Ki-67 and P-H3 proteins in myocardial tissues of rats were detected via immunohistochemistry, and the expression of GFP was observed under a fluorescence microscope. Cells in the GFP-CSC group were transfected with the empty GFP adenovirus, while those in NS group were not transfected, and other treatments in these two groups were the same as those in the ILK-CSC group. Four weeks after transplantation, left ventricular end-systolic diameter (LVESD) and left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD) of rats in the ILK-CSC group were smaller than those in the GFP-CSC group, but left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) (69.88±5.61 mm) was higher than that in the GFP-CSC group (P<0.05). The exercise time in the ILK-CSC group (12.69±0.58 min) was longer than that in the GFP-CSC and NS groups (P<0.05). The expression levels of Ki-67 and P-H3 proteins in myocardial cells of rats in the ILK-CSC group were higher than those in the GFP-CSC and NS groups (P<0.05). The number of transplanted cells retained around the infarct region in the ILK-CSC group 3 days after transplantation was obviously larger than that in the GFP-CSC group (P<0.001). Intramyocardial injection of CSCs overexpressing ILK immediately after the establishment of rat model of MI can promote myocardial cell proliferation, improve cardiac function and increase exercise capacity of rats.

Ground-level ozone (O3) pollution is a serious problem in major cities in China. The control of its precursors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), is a key to limiting ozone production. The ozone formation potential of VOCs in an industrial park in Tianjin was studied by collecting gas samples at the factory boundaries of six representative enterprises. The PTR-TOF-MS was used to analyze VOCs quantitatively. The VOCs/NOx ratio was used to determine the control strategies. The priority VOCs were selected based on the entropy method. Our results indicated that, the ozone formation potential concentration of enterprise F was the highest with the concentration of 0.4233 mg·m-3 using the propylene-equivalent concentration (PEC) scale; the highest concentration was obtained at enterprise C with 1.5733 mg·m-3 using maximum incremental reactivity(MIR) scale. The result of PEC scale is closer to the O3 concentration, which is applicable to the study of ozone generation in this industrial park. Ozone production is sensitive to both VOCs and NOx in this industrial park, joint control should be considered. Alkanes contributed most to ozone formation, followed by alkenes & alkynes, alcohols, and aromatics. The prior VOC species that need to be controlled include n-heptane and its isomers, n-nonane, n-octane and its isomers, undecane, pentane, n-decane, and methanol.
