RESUMO

NbN, NbN-Ag and NbN/NbN-Ag multilayer nanocomposite films were successfully deposited by an arc ion plating system (AIP), and their microstructures, mechanical and tribological properties were systematically investigated. The results show that all the films had a polycrystalline structure, and the Ag in the Ag-doped films existed independently as a face-centered cubic phase. The content of Ag in NbN-Ag and NbN/NbN-Ag films was 20.11 and 9.07 at.%, respectively. NbN films fabricated by AIP technique had excellent mechanical properties, and their hardness and critical load were up to 44 GPa and 34.6 N, respectively. The introduction of Ag into NbN films obviously reduced the friction coefficient at room temperature, while the mechanical properties and wear resistance were degraded sharply in comparison with that of NbN films. However, the NbN/NbN-Ag films presented better hardness, H/E*, H3/E*2, adhesive strength and wear resistance than NbN-Ag films. Additionally, analysis of wear surfaces of the studied films and Al2O3 balls using 3D images, depth profiles, energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS) and Raman spectra indicated that the main wear mechanisms of NbN and NbN/NbN-Ag films were adhesive and oxidation wear with slight abrasive wear, while the severe abrasive and oxidation wear were the dominant wear mechanism for NbN-Ag films.

RESUMO

High temperature lubricating composites have been widely used in aerospace and other high-tech industries. In the actual application process, high temperature oxidation resistance is a very importance parameter. In this paper, BaO/TiO2-enhanced NiAl-based composites were prepared by vacuum hot-press sintering. The oxidation resistance performance of the composites at 800 °C was investigated. The composites exhibited very good sintered compactness and only a few pores were present. Meanwhile, the composite had excellent oxidation resistance properties due to the formation of a dense Al2O3 layer which could prevent further oxidation of the internal substrate; its oxidation mechanism was mainly decided by the outward diffusion of Al and the inward diffusion of O. The addition of BaO/TiO2 introduced more boundaries and made the Kp value increase from 1.2 × 10-14 g2/cm4 s to 3.3 × 10-14 g2/cm4 s, leading to a slight reduction in the oxidation resistance performance of the composites-although it was still excellent.

RESUMO

Atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) was taken to fabricate the NiCrAlY coating. The corrosion-wear properties of NiCrAlY coating was measured respectively under deionized water, artificial seawater, NaOH solution and HCl solution. Experimental results presented that the as-sprayed NiCrAlY coating consisted of Ni3Al, nickel-based solid solution, NiAl and Y2O3. In deionized water, the coating with the lowest corrosion current density (icorr) of 7.865 × 10-8 A/cm2 was hard to erode. Meanwhile, it presented a lower friction coefficient and the lowest wear rate. In HCl solution, NiCrAlY coating gave the highest corrosion current density (icorr) of 3.356 × 10-6 A/cm2 and a higher wear rate of 6.36 × 10-6 mm3/Nm. Meanwhile, the emergence of Al(OH)3 on the coating surface could reduce the direct contact between the counter ball and sample effectively, which was conducive to the lowest friction coefficient of 0.24.

RESUMO

In this paper, a pest management predator-prey model with weak Allee effect on predator and state feedback impulsive control on prey is introduced and analysed, where the yield of predator released and intensity of pesticide sprayed are assumed to be linearly dependent on the selected pest control level. For the proposed model, the existence and stability of the order-1 periodic orbit of the control system are discussed. Meanwhile, with the aim of minimizing the input cost in practice, an optimization model is constructed to determine the optimal quantity of the predator released and the intensity of pesticide sprayed. The theoretical results and numerical simulations indicated that the number of pests can be limited to below an economic threshold and displays periodic variation under the proposed control strategy. In addition, it indicated in numerical simulations that an order-2 periodic orbit exists for some certain parameters.

RESUMO

Interaction Article Classification (IAC) is a specific text classification application in biological domain that tries to find out which articles describe Protein-Protein Interactions (PPIs) to help extract PPIs from biological literature more efficiently. However, the existing text representation and feature weighting schemes commonly used for text classification are not well suited for IAC. We capture and utilise biological domain knowledge, i.e. gene mentions also known as protein or gene names in the articles, to address the problem. We put forward a new gene mention order-based approach that highlights the important role of gene mentions to represent the texts. Furthermore, we also incorporate the information concerning gene mentions into a novel feature weighting scheme called Gene Mention-based Term Frequency (GMTF). By conducting experiments, we show that using the proposed representation and weighting schemes, our Interaction Article Classifier (IACer) performs better than other leading systems for the moment.

RESUMO

In this paper, we develop a mathematical model concerning a chemostat with impulsive state feedback control to investigate the periodicity of bioprocess. By the existence criteria of periodic solution of a general planar impulsive autonomous system, the conditions under which the model has a periodic solution of order one are obtained. Furthermore, we estimate the position of the periodic solution of order one and discuss the existence of periodic solution of order two. The theoretical results and numerical simulations indicate that the chemostat system with impulsive state feedback control either tends to a stable state or has a periodic solution, which depends on the feedback state, the control parameter of the dilution rate and the initial concentrations of microorganisms and substrate.
