RESUMO

The 2-methylbiphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylate (mbpdc2-) ligand has versatile coordination modes and can be used to construct multinuclear structures. Despite this, reports of the synthesis of coordination complexes involving this ligand are scarce. The title compound, poly[[triaquadi-µ3-hydroxido-hexakis(µ4-2-methylbiphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylato)calcium(II)hexazinc(II)] monohydrate], {[CaZn6(C15H10O4)6(OH)2(H2O)3]·H2O}n, has been prepared by the hydrothermal assembly of Zn(NO3)2·6H2O, CaCl2 and 2-methylbiphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid. Two ZnII atoms adopt a four-coordinated distorted tetrahedral geometry by bonding to three O atoms from three different 2-methylbiphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylate (mbpdc2-) dianionic ligands and one bridging hydroxide O atom. For the remaining ZnII atom, a five-coordinate environment is completed half the time by one carboxylate O atom, and then the same carboxylate O atom and an aqua O atom are present the other half of the time, giving a six-coordinate environment. The CaII atom is coordinated by six O atoms to give an octahedral coordination geometry. The supramolecular secondary building unit (SBU) is a hamburger-like heptanuclear unit (Zn6CaO30) and these units are interconnected through mbpdc2- carboxylate groups to generate a three-dimensional framework with the pcu topology. The single net leaves voids that are filled by mutual interpenetration of an independent equivalent framework in a twofold interpenetrating architecture. The title compound shows thermal stability up to 673 K. The excitation and luminescence data showed the emission of a bright-blue fluorescence.

RESUMO

By using a strategy of introducing hydrophobic groups to the linkers, a hydrostable MOF was constructed based on 5-nitroisophthalate and 2,2'-dimethyl-4,4'-bipyridine coligands, revealing a 3D dia topology structure with a 1D channel parallel to the c axis. TGA, PXRD, and water vapor sorption results show high thermal and water stability for the framework. The framework is very porous and possesses not only high busulfan payloads with an encapsulation efficiency up to 21.5% (17.2 wt %) but also very high CO2 selective capture compared with that of other small gases (i.e., CH4, N2, O2, CO, and H2) at 298 K based on molecular simulations due to the pore surface being populated by methyl and nitryl groups. Furthermore, in vitro MTT assays were conducted on four different cells lines with increasing concentrations of the framework, and the results showed that the framework was nontoxic (cell viability >80%) in spite of the concentrations up to 500 µg/mL.

RESUMO

In the title compound, C15H13Cl2NO2, which was obtained by a condensation reaction of 2,5-dimeth-oxy-aniline and 2,4-dichloro-benzaldehyde, the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 51.94 (2)°. The 2,5-dimeth-oxy-phenyl and 2,4-dichloro-phenyl groups are attached to the ends of the N=C group in an E conformation. Intra-molecular C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯N contacts are observed. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming chains parallel to the b axis.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo introduce the use of single arm external fixation assisted reduction and closed complex intramedullary nail fixation for the treatment of femoral shaft fracture operation method and to study its effects.

METHODSFrom June 2008 to October 2012, 24 patients with femoral shaft fractures were treated with unilateral external fixation assisted by closed reduction, interlocking intramedullary nail fixation. Among the patients, 19 patients were male and 5 patients were female, ranging in aged from 20 to 68 years, with an average of 45.6 years old. The fracture was caused by traffic accidents in 14 cases, by falling in 6 cases, by heavy bruising in 4 cases. Admission diagnosis was femoral shaft fracture. Operation was performed after traction from tibial tubercle for about 1 week.

RESULTSAll the patients were followed up, and the duration ranged from 6 to 24 months, with a mean of 16.2 months. The X-ray showed fracture healing time ranging from 11 to 17 weeks, with an average of 13.8 weeks. All fractures healed without nails broken or close joint dysfunction. According to femoral shaft efficacy evaluation standards, 23 patients got an excellent result, 1 good.

CONCLUSIONUnilateral fixator assisted closed reduction and interlocking intramedullary nail fixation for the treatment of femoral shaft fracture has following advantages: less trauma, simple operation, effective reduction, high rate of fracture healing, and low complication rate.

RESUMO

In the title compound, [PdCl(2)(C(8)H(11)N)(2)], the Pd(II) atom is located on a crystallographic inversion center and adopts a square-planar coordination geometry, with pairs of equivalent ligands in trans positions. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are linked with each other through weak N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking inter-actions between the phenyl rings [shortest centroid-centroid distance = 3.720 (2) Å], leading to the formation of layers parallel to the a-axis direction.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo introduce the clinical method of blocking screws and rooting technique in the treatment of distal tibial fracture with interlocking intramedullary nails.

METHODSFrom June 2006 to March 2011, 26 patients with distal tibial fracture were treated with interlocking intramedullary nails using blocking screws and rooting technique, included 18 males and 8 females with an average age of 46.2 years old ranging from 24 to 64 years. According to AO classification: 10 cases of type A1, 4 cases of type A2, 8 cases of type B1, 4 cases of type B2. The average distance of the fractures end to the ankle joint was 85 mm ranging from 55 to 125 mm, the mean time between injured and operation was 4.5 days. The patients were evaluated with pain, range of motion, walking.

RESULTSAll cases were followed-up for 6 to 22 months (averaged 15 months). According to Iowa ankle joint grading system, the score was improved from preoperative (66.8 +/- 8.2) to postoperative (94.6 +/- 4.8). All fractures had united, and got satisfactory reduction and stable fixation with no complications had happen such as breakage of screw.

CONCLUSIONFixation with interlocking intramedullary nail using blocking screws and rooting technique in treating distal tibial fracture, is a safe and effective technique for the improvement of stability.

RESUMO

In the title coordination polymer, [AgTb(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(C(7)H(4)NO(4))(C(2)O(4))(0.5)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Tb(III) ion is eight-coordinated by three O atoms from three different pydc (H(2)pydc = pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylic acid) ligands, one O atom from one Hpydc ligand, two O atoms from one oxalate ligand and two water mol-ecules in a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry. The Ag(I) ion is coordinated in an almost linear fashion by two pyridyl N atoms from one pydc and one Hpydc ligand and has weak inter-actions with two carboxyl-ate O atoms. The carboxyl-ate groups of pydc and Hpydc ligands link Tb centers, forming a one-dimensional chain. The oxalate adopts a tetra-dentate bis-chelating coordination mode, connecting the chains into a two-dimensional layer. These layers are further assembled via [Ag(pydc)(Hpydc)] pillars and O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional coordination framework.
