[Differential diagnosis in multiple sclerosis: description of selected cases]. / Diagnostyka róznicowa stwardnienia rozsianego--omówienie na podstawie wybranych przypadków.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) should be differentiated with diseases causing disseminated lesions of central nervous system or imitating clinical course of MS. Clinical course and results of laboratory investigations also immunological tests should be taken into account in differential diagnosis of MS. We present four patients whose proper diagnoses were based on the immunological investigations.

[Analysis of neuropsychological disorders in toxic brain damage resulting from carbon monoxide poisoning]. / Analiza zaburzen neuropsychologicznych wystepujacych w toksycznym uszkodzeniu mózgu wskutek zatrucia tlenkiem wegla.

Observation of two patients treated in the Neurological Department of the Medical Academy in Lublin was carried out because of carbon monoxide intoxication. The analysis of somatic and neuropsychological signs was performed. Neuropsychological examinations were performed twice for estimation of disorders of higher nervous functions. The first examination took place one month after intoxication and the second one after the following next month. In both patients there was observed the impairment of some cognitive functions such as: memory, space orientation, abstract and discursive thinking, visual gnosis, manual praxis, three-dimensional praxis and dysphasia.
