RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: Simultaneously along with information technology progress, knowledge has considered as a fundamental base for economic growth for the time being. In today's knowledge-based economy, production and exploitation of knowledge play the main roles in the process of wealth creation. The current revolution in information technology has given new light to the importance of knowledge such that it has now become the base of economy in today's world. In today's knowledge-based economy, production and exploitation of knowledge play the main roles in the process of wealth creation. Considering key contributions of knowledge management in competitiveness of organizations and their entry into global arenas, this study sought to evaluate the impact of different aspects of intellectual property on innovations in computer and health information system (HIS) units at selected medical center in the city of Isfahan during 2015. OBJECTIVES: The present study seeks to evaluate the impact of different aspects of intellectual property on innovations in computer and HIS units at selected medical centers in the city of Isfahan during 2015 (2015). SETTINGS AND DESIGN: Population of this research includes staff working in computer and HIS units of 10 medical centers. Data were collected using a questionnaire made by the researcher. A written questionnaire (also referred to as self-administered questionnaire) is a data collection tool in which written questions are presented that are to be answered by study individuals, where for the case of the present study include staff members working at computer and HIS units of 10 medical centers. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In the first stage, medical factors were determined by experts of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences as intellectual property. Factors were then distributed randomly among 100 employees during a survey, after considering their validity and reliability. STATISTICAL ANALYSIS: Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for data analysis. RESULTS: Data analysis showed that innovation is one of the most important indicators of intellectual capital in computer and HIS units of medical centers and has a higher than average importance. CONCLUSIONS: The results of this study, in addition to providing guidelines in the management of intellectual capital in Isfahan province hospitals, can be used as a model for improving innovation in hospitals and understanding various factors affecting organizational innovation.

RESUMO

CONTEXT: Implementing information technology in the best possible way can bring many advantages such as applying electronic services and facilitating tasks. Therefore, assessment of service providing systems is a way to improve the quality and elevate these systems including e-commerce, e-government, e-banking, and e-learning. AIMS: This study was aimed to evaluate the electronic services in the website of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in order to propose solutions to improve them. Furthermore, we aim to rank the solutions based on the factors that enhance the quality of electronic services by using analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Non-parametric test was used to assess the quality of electronic services. The assessment of propositions was based on Aqual model and they were prioritized using AHP approach. The AHP approach was used because it directly applies experts' deductions in the model, and lead to more objective results in the analysis and prioritizing the risks. After evaluating the quality of the electronic services, a multi-criteria decision making frame-work was used to prioritize the proposed solutions. STATISTICAL ANALYSIS USED: Non-parametric tests and AHP approach using Expert Choice software. RESULTS: The results showed that students were satisfied in most of the indicators. Only a few indicators received low satisfaction from students including, design attractiveness, the amount of explanation and details of information, honesty and responsiveness of authorities, and the role of e-services in the user's relationship with university. After interviewing with Information and Communications Technology (ICT) experts at the university, measurement criteria, and solutions to improve the quality were collected. The best solutions were selected by EC software. According to the results, the solution "controlling and improving the process in handling users complaints" is of the utmost importance and authorities have to have it on the website and place great importance on updating this process. CONCLUSIONS: Although, 4 out of the 22 indicators used in the test hypothesis were not confirmed, the results show that these assumptions are accepted at 95% confidence level. To improve the quality of electronic services, special attention should be paid to "services interaction." As the results showed having "controlling and improving the process in handling users complaints" on the website is the first and most important one and the process of "changing brand/factory name/address in the text of the factory license/renewal or modification of manufacturing license/changing the formula" is the least important one.

RESUMO

UNLABELLED: Health Information System (HIS) is considered a unique factor in improving the quality of health care activities and cost reduction, but today with the development of information technology and use of internet and computer networks, patients' electronic records and health information systems have become a source for hackers. METHODS: This study aims at checking health information security of three selected medical centers in Iran using AHP fuzzy and TOPSIS compound model. To achieve that security measures were identified, based on the research literature and decision making matrix using experts' points of view. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: Among the 27 indicators, seven indicators were selected as effective indicators and Fuzzy AHP technique was used to determine the importance of security indicators. Based on the comparisons made between the three selected medical centers to assess the security of health information, it is concluded that Chamran hospital has the most acceptable level of security and attention in three indicators of "verification and system design, user access management, access control system", Al Zahra Hospital in two indicators of "access management and network access control" and Amin Hospital in "equipment safety and system design". In terms of information security, Chamran Hospital ranked first, Al-Zahra Hospital ranked second and Al- Zahra hospital has the third place.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: The software industry has had significant progress in recent years. The entire life of software includes two phases: production and maintenance. Software maintenance cost is increasingly growing and estimates showed that about 90% of software life cost is related to its maintenance phase. Extraction and considering the factors affecting the software maintenance cost help to estimate the cost and reduce it by controlling the factors. METHODS: In this study, the factors affecting software maintenance cost were determined then were ranked based on their priority and after that effective ways to reduce the maintenance costs were presented. This paper is a research study. 15 software related to health care centers information systems in Isfahan University of Medical Sciences and hospitals function were studied in the years 2010 to 2011. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: Among Medical software maintenance team members, 40 were selected as sample. After interviews with experts in this field, factors affecting maintenance cost were determined. In order to prioritize the factors derived by AHP, at first, measurement criteria (factors found) were appointed by members of the maintenance team and eventually were prioritized with the help of EC software. Based on the results of this study, 32 factors were obtained which were classified in six groups. "Project" was ranked the most effective feature in maintenance cost with the highest priority. By taking into account some major elements like careful feasibility of IT projects, full documentation and accompany the designers in the maintenance phase good results can be achieved to reduce maintenance costs and increase longevity of the software.
