RESUMO

Investigation was carried out on the epithelial cells obtained from 32 patients with benign and malignant tumors of large intestine aged from 42 to 80 years. Ratio of single-stranded and double-stranded DNAs in the epithelial cells of unchanged colorectal mucosa (12 patterns), adenomatous polyps (4) and adenocarcinomas (29) was studied using fluorimetric analysis. Increased instability of DNA secondary structure was revealed in the tumor cells comparing to the cells of unchanged colorectal epithelium. Relative accumulation of single-stranded DNA reflects structural and functional changes in gene apparatus of cells under malignization.

RESUMO

A clinical and genealogical investigation has been carried out in 169 subjects of both sexes, presenting with colorectal oncopathology. Particular features of the colorectal carcinoma in the patients have been recognized. The frequency of the tumours spread in the relatives of the probands is determined as is the spectrum of aggregation of large intestine carcinoma with neoplasia of other genesis in the pedigrees. The data obtained suggest an important contribution of genetic factors into the origination of colorectal carcinoma.

RESUMO

Analysis of the family histories of 179 patients with cancer of uterine cervix was conducted to detect the influence of their heredity and environmental factors on the development of malignant tumors using clinical-genealogical and genetic-mathematical methods. Decomposition of phenotypic variance was used as a basis for detecting the contribution of genetic component (2.92%) and random environmental component (97.08%) which reflected the influence of exogenic risk factors of development of uterine cervix cancer. Clinico-genealogical analysis of probands' pedigrees was the basis for detecting association of malignant neoplasms in lung and uterine cervix epithelia.
