Taszakowski, Kim Herczek (Hemiptera, Heteroptera, Miridae, Isometopinae, Gigantometopini), is described from Brunei. Photographs of the adult males and genital structures, as well as detailed SEM micrographs, are presented. The first finding of the largely modified leg in Gigantometopini is also reported.

RESUMO

The second fossil record of deraeocorine species from Miocene Dominican amber is presented with description of a new taxon, Amberderaeous gigophthalmus gen. and sp. nov. based on a well-preserved specimen. The need for revision of related group Eustictus and a comprehensive study of its tribal placement within Deraeocorinae are discussed.

RESUMO

A pair of ventral cephalic trichobothria was observed for the first time and so far the only one in a representative of single species of Miridae (Fulvius carayoni) in 2013. The purpose of our research was to verify the hypothesis that this is not an exception, but a characteristic feature of all plant bugs. Twenty-three representatives of all seven subfamilies of Miridae were examined using a scanning electron microscope. The results presents detailed data on the distribution and ultramorphology of the cephalic trichobothria in plant bugs. A pair of ventral cephalic trichobothria was observed in all of the examined species. Each trichobothrium of this pair is located laterally to the first article of the rostrum, on the gula (between the buccula and the antennal tubercle). Moreover, a pair of dorsal cephalic trichobothria was observed for the first time. They were found in nine species, located above the antennal tubercle, towards the center of the frons.

RESUMO

Two new genera, each represented by a single new species, Planicapitus luteus Taszakowski, Kim & Herczek, gen. et sp. nov. and Bruneimetopus simulans Taszakowski, Kim & Herczek, gen. et sp. nov., are described from Borneo. Detailed photographs of male habitus and genital structures are presented. The checklist with distributional records for all known taxa of Gigantometopini is also provided.

RESUMO

A new species of the genus Sulawesifulvius, Sulawesifulvius thailandicus Wolski, Yasunaga & Gorczyca, sp. n., is described from Thailand. The present finding also represents the first distribution record in Indochina for the genus. Color adult habitus images for Sulawesifulvius thailandicus and Sulawesifulvius schuhi (type species of the genus), male genital drawings of Sulawesifulvius thailandicus, and scanning electron micrographs of selected structures of Sulawesifulvius schuhi and Sulawesifulvius thailandicus are provided.

RESUMO

Hallodapomimusantennatus sp. n. (Hemiptera: Heteroptera, Miridae, Phylinae, Hallodapini) is described from a macropterous female found in Eocene Baltic amber. The new species can be recognized readily from the other species of the genus, mainly due to its unusual second antennal segment. A key for the identification of all known fossil Hallodapini is presented.

RESUMO

Metoisops akingbohungbei, M. groehni, M. punctatodiffusus, M. intergerivus, M. grabenhorsti, M. variabilis, and M. consimilis are described as new species from the late Eocene Baltic, Ukrainian, (Rovno) and Saxonian (Bitterfeld) amber. The new diagnosis of the genus Metoisops and also all species of this genus presented, along with illustrations. An analysis of all studied specimens referring to of Metoisops from different Eocene European amber demonstrates the great variability of their features, and allows for differentiation of species. Ratios of the width and length of body, eye, vertex, antennal and rostral segments, pronotum, mesoscutum and scutellum, claval commissura, length of hind femur, tibia and tarsus, corium and cuneus length, as well as ratio of membrane cell's width and length of all 9 species of the genus Metoisops are presented.
